http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/6170748 Houston Rockets Too many people questioned the logic in the Rockets taking Yao Ming with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Seven months later, they would look like fools if they had done anything else. Yao has changed the fabric of the team, and to a lesser degree, the league. He has a great feel for the game, and it's making the players around him better. Steve Francis is an All-Star, but looking more and more like he needs a point guard next to him, with Cuttino Mobley coming off the bench. Eddie Griffin, Maurice Taylor, Kelvin Cato and James Posey form a nice unit up front around Yao. The Rockets are not a lock for the playoffs, and they have to prove they are grown up enough to take that next step for Rudy Tomjanovich. Grade: B. ### Chris
They put the Worriors ahead of the Rockets with a B-plus And the Lakers with a C-minus And about every somebody in the West ahead of the Rockets Yet they chose Koby as their poster boy for the article
1. And whats wrong with that? The warriors can (and have) beat the rockets plus they are playing extremely well for what they have. 2. The lakers had a slow start but WILL be in the playoffs, if you havent noticed the are definetly playing like Champs again. 3. Who would you put as the posterboy on your story other than Yao ming? KOBE BRYANT! He hit the nail on the head on this one. Cuttino coming from the bench, Steve plays 2 with a True point at the 1. Steve's game is starting to resemble more and more like AI's. They can break anyone down but need to get the ball off a pass to be the most effective. Honestly, I think we have in Tito Maddox what we need to run the point. Remember, San Antonio gave Tony Parker the rock as a rookie and said run with it. And thats exactly what he did. Given the oppurtunity I think we have all we need in TITO to run the point...
Did the guy from sportline.com just lift stuff from this board for his article? A new PG, Franchise to SG and Cat on the bench.....did we talk about this scenario over and over again here. I am glad that someone is paying attention. Too bad it's not the Rox management.
I wonder about Tito. I dont know much about him besides that he is supposed to be pretty good but has a temper? Anyways, is he capable of playing the pg spot? I have not heard alot about him/ seen him, do the rocks still have him?
i give them a D because we shouldnt be where we are. we should be a whole lot farther ahead, except we cant beat pond scum.
B-...nice record, yet 8th in the conference. They are waaay better than last year, as they should be, and should be better than what the record would indicate, but Rox are a decent team. Too inconsistent though.
D+, While we beat teams like Indiana and Sacramento, we lose to sub .500 teams like the clippers and warriors (not to mention the Cavs). I hope they get their act togather comes crunch time.
