Given that the Rockettes won't make the playoffs, I have a sinking feeling that : 1) Rudy won't get fired AND 2) Cat won't get traded If Rudy is still the coach next year, Cat will be here because I get the feeling that Rudy believes in the Cat. Always has, always will. In fact from all indications of Rudy in public, he seems to really believe in the Steve-Cat backcourt. I don't think Rudy will get fired because no matter what, our record will be better than last year and Rudy can always say that this year we had new players and the reason why we didn't make the playoffs is because we didn't have time to gel, get to know each other....blah blah. Now, all of us know that this is b.s. But will Les buy this excuse? Somehow Les seems like a patient man and will give Rudy another chance. So will there be a Fire Rudy (part 50) thread sometime in the future? I think so.
Nice word It's really hard to tell what would happen. But with Yao Ming in the team and all the media attention this year, something will eventually change. I guess we need some more patience, eh, again..
Be honest, I don't think not making this year is a total disaster. Our team can and will only improve even if we keep the same coach and same players (see last seasons' Pacers). Not having a 1st round pick does make it worse feeling though. I would kill someone if we win the Lebron James lottory for Memphis.
I wonder when excessive patience becomes complacency. I watched an interview with George Steinbrenner of the New York Yankees on ESPN a few weeks ago. Here is a man who has little patience for unfulfilled potential. I like his hard-nosed style of ownership. In fact, this Rox team could use an old fashioned ass-kicking. In all honesty, players don't win championships. The organization does. Rox, as an organization, needs a re-structuring ASAP.
