Who gets a turn over when a person fumbles a pass. . .
    the passer or the receiver?

So all those lobs Kelvin "Hands of Stone" Cato fumbled from Steve prior to this season were turnovers for Steve? They must be, although I never really thought about it. Puts at least SOME of Steve's turnover #'s in a different light.

And a few lobs from Cat and others that didn't get close to the backboard HAVE to be turnovers for the passer. Don't know why I'm fixated on lobs. We've had some seriously bad ones recently.

I did some looking and couldn't find much but, from what I've heard in the past, the passer is almost always the one who collects the turnover. There are a few exceptions - if the receipient of the pass catches it and tries to make a move in one motion losing the ball, then it goes to him. But, the vast majority of the time, if a passer makes a pass and the other guy just isn't ready or can't hold onto the ball, the passer gets the turnover.

The question to me . . . is. . . HOW MANY OF OUR TURNOVERS
ARE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE BALL TO YAO?

I know I saw at least Three passes from Stevie to Yao
    that turned into Turnovers
Then I noticed Steve had 5 Turnovers and Yao had three
[I know of a steal by KG on Yao too]

    Oh, that's easy.

    Steve passes the ball.

    Turnover is recorded.

OK, maybe I'm feeling a little cynical.

I am pretty sure that it is the player who initiates the play. Thus, the passer.
