Oh, okay, I thought we had only won 5 games. Okay, nevermind then, no need to ever look for ways to improve within our coaching decisions.
Take one from the Packers or Patriots or Saints or Steelers or Ravens...Theyve been places where we are still hoping to go. Yes, we have a better record...that's missing the point. Luckily, our team is so talented, that we can get there with Kubiak. But, to say that Kubiak's conservative style is a popular choice amongst all the top coaches, then the stats show otherwise. I dont want Kubiak to be underrated...I want him to be the absolute best.
He wouldn't be underrated if he was the best. 527 passing yards, I love that. Keep it up Kubes!! He's learning!..
Do you plan on bumping this thread every time the Texans run on third and long? I think you've made your opinion clear.
I feel Matt has proven us enough that we should be able to pass on third an long. I have a few gripes with Kubiak, and that has to be one of my bigger ones. I don't understand why would not throw, especially when we are losing. But overall, Kubiak is doing a helluva job. I feel like he has improved a lot, especially since 2009 when I wanted him fired. I believe he WAS underrated, but not anymore. He is getting a lot of respect around the league.
I've changed my mind and agree with rezdawg. The 3rd down and long draws are getting annoying. Especially when they have zero chance of converting.
Nah bro, its too nitpicky and the logic behind it doesnt make sense....Donkey will let you know about it.
Except for that bizarre goal line play before the two minute warning. Forced us to use a QB sneak as a result. Images of Haynesworth floated thru my mind whe we had to run a play from ou own endzone
Too bad he is so conservative and wasn't more aggressive like Schwartz. You know, those two third down passes in the second half when they were in FG position and Stafford got sacked to take them out of range.
Well, the Texans ran the ball with zero effectiveness and then missed the FG... That's not even the issue though. If you dont think it was a poorly coached game by Kubiak, then there really is no point in discussing it. Schwartz is terrible...and I would expect more from Kubs.
It's not just the play call. It's going away from what got you in position to win the game in the first place.
