A documentary that I watched a few weeks ago, part two & three just came out. This is investigative journalism at its best, Very thought provoking.

It is not anti-Islam, but is anti radicalism and shares first hand accounts of the 'Islamification' of Europe.

    Watch and share your thoughts.

Do you think that this could eventually happen in The United States of America?

How many radical American Muslims do you know?

The immigration patterns to Europe are far different.

You are right, the threat of Islamism is a global one.

ATW, read these two books. Both relate to Islam and liberal democracies

End of History by Francis Fukuyama, a historian (1992 orig)
    - argues that liberal democracy will eventually prevail. Goes on in the whole book justifying and explaining why it's good and why it will prevail.
    - Due to universal rise of liberal democracy, less conflict and less wars = hence the "end of history".
    - BUT was somewhat incorrect for not predicting this rise of Islam.
    - Fukuyama backtracks after 9/11 saying Islam is a great force, one that is in the way of liberal democracy becoming universal.
    - This book is probably more widely accepted among historians than the second one below.

Clash of Civilizations by Huntington. (1992 orig)
    - This book is a direct response to Fukuyama's theories
    - says religious affiliations and cultural affiliations post-Cold war will lead to furthur conflicts, which is sort of opposite to what Fukuyama said.
    - Also says rise of economic powers of other states will re-inforce civilization-consciousness (nationalism to an extent). Perhaps referring to rise of China?
    - Says there will inevitably be a great conflict between West and Islam due to each side's belief of universal widespread. Each side sees that as a threat.
    - The world, divided here

If Islam is wrong, how do you explain this:

Also [real] Islam made Malcom X realize that not all white people are evil (per his auto biography) just before his death.

^ Implying that he spent majority of his life hating white people then lol
^ Implying Malcolm X represents sentiment of all muslims; which they necessarily dont.

I don't have a problem with moderate Islam - if it exists.

And Hakeem was a fantastic player and person, regardless of what religion he followed.

Even if he is an orthodox Muslim that has according to you "extreme" views? You still consider him to be a fantastic person?

Seems to me, you are simply trying to gain brownie points by excluding Hakeem from your random Islamophobe attacks.

If you are under the impression that my posting history here is aimed at gaining brownie points...you haven't been paying attention.

He did father an illegitimate child and was fairly problematic for the franchise before he became the leader that took us to NBA titles

So, do you attribute those problematic times to his Religion?

Before he changed his name and became a devout Muslim. Imagine that.

Come on.... you have never known a moderate Muslim? I dated a few in college (hot as hell) and even lived with one for 2 years.... never had any issues.

Honestly, radical Christian extremeists are a far worse threat in the United States of America. They have had horrible effects on our nation and have undermined our basic Constitutional rights.

I cannot see Muslims ever having any real power in the United States of America.

I know a lot of moderate Muslims. Whether there really is a moderate Islam is a separate issue.

So what are moderate Muslims practicing as their faith? Extreme Islam?
