I just got my first order of CDs from www.secondspin.com today and these are the CDs I got: The Ataris - "Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits" (these guys recently signed on to a major label, expect for them to blowup sometime this year) Gin Blossoms - "New Miserable Experience" New Radicals - "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too." (one of the most underrated pop cds ever) The Wallflowers - Bringing Down The Horse Limp Bizkit - "Significant Other" Live - "Throwing Copper" Hootie & The Blowfish - "Cracked Rear View" and one more CD that I wont reveal here in order to avoid mass ridicule! Seriously though, if you guys buy a lot of music you have to check out secondspin.com ! I think I will be spending a lot of money on that website in the future. I got these 8 CDs shipped for $33.17! I used the cheapest shipping option and it still got here in less than a week. If you like old pop music by groups that aren't that popular anymore, you will love secondspin.com...Hootie & The Blowfish only cost 99 cents
David Bowie, "Ziggy Stardust" Def Leppard, "X" Sugarcult, "Start Static" The Katies, "2002 Demo Sampler" Butch Walker, "Left of Self-Centered"
car stereo = mangled by attempted theft. At home, the soundtrack from "Talk to Her." It's absolutely gorgeous. Also, still getting mileage out of the latest Sonic Youth album. Might break out "Emporer Tomato Ketchup" now again after reading Kimble14's post though.
Are they any good? What kind of music is it. Sorry about your stereo, that sucks. BTW, how's the new Sonic Youth?
RM95, LMAO! Mangled by Attempted Theft is the best band... EVER! The "Murray Street" album, for my ears, is Sonic Youth's best since "Dirty," and it might be even better than that. Good mix of melodic and catchy with the occasional, but unusually well-placed noisy dirge thing. It's more mellow than Dirty, so that was not a great comparison.
Dammit, Dirty is one of my top 5 favorite cds of all-time, so you got me excited. I think I'll pick it up regardless.
The new Blasters CD from their reunion tour, "Live from the House of Blues". Sure wish they'd come here. I saw them at Cardi's in 1984. They put on a totally rockin' show.
LeGrouper, I don't have a changer. What I do is listen all the way through to each CD listed and then go on to the next one. I pick 8 because that is the number that fits on the 2 sideholders of my car & it is a good round number. I now have about all the Smiths stuff, now onto Morrissey's solo stuff.
Thanks for the heads up on secondspin.com. I've never heard of it, but I'll definitely have to check it out. I've been using http://www.spun.com for a while now, and I love it. The only problem is that the selection is not always the greatest. I bought a whole crapload of CDs for like $30. Got all kinds of popular albums that I don't own, like Goo Goo Dolls' "A Boy Named Goo" and Blues Traveler's "Four". Good opportunity to hear some of the music that passed me by. Right now I've got Nas -- Illmatic in the CD Player.
Latest albums added to my Ipod: Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head David Gray - White Ladder David Gray - A New Day At Midnight Phish - Live Phish, Volume 14 Phish - Live Phish, Volume 15
Guns N' Roses - Live at Rock In Rio III Guns N' Roses - Live at MSG '03 Traveling Wilburys - Vol I Traveling Wilburys - Vol II Bone Thugs N' Harmony - Thug World Order Pink Floyd - Animals
Vengeance, I had a chance to see Patrice Pike at Bocktober fest this past year. They were pretty good, but I haven't had a chance to check out their CD's. I just remembered the 10th cd: Linkin Park. Maybe by the end of the day, the remaining two will pop into my head.
