Not sure, perhaps the same kind of sense where a California High School Player of the year never receives a D1 basketball scholarship?
Okay, but don't also say that Lin was getting "torched." 3-9 and 0 assists = getting torched? Granted that D on the last play wasn't the greatest, but atleast he did allow himself enough room to stay in front and forced a seemingly tough step back, decently contest jumper.
What about the extra rebound Lin could have gotten? What about an extra steal? Those things also contribute to a win. Sampson, what are you doing?
Lin is really being under-utilized by Rox coaching. If anyone watched his NYK games last year, he has a big upside on offense, if utilized better (like D'Antoni did). He drew alot of fouls off of high pick & roll plays, run specifically for him. Those plays put alot of pressure on the other team's guards. Currently he is forced to look for shots. He is not CP3, Westbrook, Deron Williams, or any of those elite PGs. But that doesn't mean he can't score. Coaching needs to learn from D'Antoni and how he put Lin in a situation that took pressure off of his own team, and created pressure for the other team's guards. Lin is only getting 8 or 10 shots a game. But he is excelling on the other stats. In fact, his rebounds are up from last year, his assists are up from last year, his steals are up from last year (4th in the league), and his TOs are down from last year. It's a shame Rox coaching is not using him to full potential. Just sad.
Yes, Lin is playing the perfect way to be compatible with Harden right now. Outside of raining 3s. but lets bench him anyway, and nuke him from orbit... just to be sure.
Sampson - "Hey Lin, we're gonna have you play center. don't ask...just do it. Also the only shots we want you to take are from the half-court." makes more sense than what they're actually doing to him now.
