Talk about fickle. What a difference a couple of wins (or losses) will make.

It couldn't of been more than a week ago when Blineberry wrote a column critical of how the Rockets were playing, and the vast majority of the posters here agreed with him.

I'm guessing that Francis didn't say "I don't know how to win on the road", I'm guessing that it was edited out and he was answering another question or something. The media does that all the time, basically manipulating a comment to back up a statement they're making. And of course there are people in the public who jump on it and presto, people are trashing that athlete and there's controversy.

What's the big deal over Francis saying he doesn't know how to win on the road anyway? He freakin' DOESN'T! None of them do yet. At least he's honest about it.

They are still learning how to win consistently let alone on the road. Much ado about nothing at this point, IMO.

Like a tree being felled for the purpose of carrying the ink upon which these words have been written.

    Or typed.

    Or printed.

"We know what we..." says Francis.

Sure. And Barbara Bush is Cindy Crawford.

"I think," say the Hakeem-less Rockets.

The past was dreamy. The future might be more of a nightmare.

I can't believe the turnaround Fran's reputation has seen on this board. The Rocket Guy can't be far behind.

It's been many years since I was in Houston. Does Dale Robertson still work for the Chronicle? Or was that the Post? Does that paper even exist any more? Also which was the reporter that Pastorini shoved around?

Blinebury: So what does it take to make the next step forward?

Francis: I don't know what makes a pathetic excuse for a journalist like you think that I would waste time answering your questions, just so you can take my words out of context and try to make me look bad. Go f*** yourself!

Blinebury:[writes down "I don't know..." on his note pad]

The Houston Post folded up, so there is on the Houston Chronicle. Dale Robertson now writes sports columns for the Chronicle, and he was the sports writer that Pastorini shoved out the door, back in the day.

Yeah, Pastorini couldn't hit a receiver, so he decided to start shoving around reporters...

Is having your "head and heart in the game" <i>The Book of Jaded Journalist Mumbo Jumbo</i>'s equivalent to <i>The Book of Coach Mumbo Jumbo</i>'s "It's all about execution."

    "I don't know," Francis said.

    See?

Is is all about literary execution or having your head and heart in your work.

    "I don't know," Francis said.

Is it about "being a professional" or having your "head and heart in the game."

"It's mental more than anything," Moochie Norris said. "It's a matter of us taking the same energy, the same aggressiveness onto the road."

No. It's about being a professional journalist executing spin.

Do you come apart on the road like porcelain getting hit by a sledgehammer.

    "I don't know," Francis said.

Do you think I should have tried to use a Chinese New Year metaphor like a Ming Vase getting hit by New Years fireworks.

    "I don't know,' Francis said.

Will you ever give me an exclusive interview like Hakeem?

    "I don't know," Francis said.

    Frustrating.

Thanks. I still remember seeing that footage when I was a kid. Funny how trivial stuff like that never leaves you after 20+ years; yet I can't remember where I put the freakin' car keys an hour ago :)

I agree 100% with Blinebury. The Rox haven't proven that they can play on the road. Hopefully, the Rox can turn their road record around in the second half of the season.

Actually, it is a little bit better. 21 road games and 15 home games.

Fran's got a level head about the Rockets...doesn't get too down after losses or, in this case, too high after the wins. I guess pragmatic would be the word. He doesn't see the Roxs being true contenders of anything until they show the same game on the road. But isn't that a great thing to know that this team really can beat the best teams if they bring that beautiful concept of team bball. I think that's why being a Rocket fan is so frustrating...most of know the team is good enough to yell about.

The last two games have made me terribly proud of this young bunch. They showed heart and even if they get demolished again this season (one more against Dallas), at least I know they have it.

Francis doesn't need a journalist to make him look bad. He can do that himself.

Blinebury was right after all. You guys should listen to the media, not bash them.

 I guess you were one of the ones who listened to the media when they unanimously bashed Yao.

Nobody from the local media really ever bashed Yao. Anyways, I guess Fran was right.
