Eddie Griffin was very seldom in foul trouble last season and he was seldom in foul trouble early this season. However since late November or early December it seams that Eddie gets a lot of quick early ticky tack fouls that the refs use to never call on him. Has anyone else noticed this? Eddie has really started getting a lot more aggressive rebounding the ball the last month or so but now he can’t seem to stay in the game for any length of time because he consistently gets into early foul trouble. One thing I have noticed is that anytime there is a foul and he and Yao Ming are both in the area that Eddie gets the call. I believe Eddies foul troubles started about the time Yao Ming started becoming a force. Now I am wondering if this is just a coincidence or if the refs are intentionally giving the fouls to someone other than Yao Ming when they can and that someone is Eddie Griffin.
Don't worry. He hasn't fouled out. And I'm fine with it. As long as Mo Taylor comes off the bench and scores like he has been doing.
a lot of those calls are against Eddie's man. Yao is in the area because he is coming to help, but Eddie is getting the foul because he is the first guy there. That also tends to be true on penetration, because Eddie is quicker than Yao.
Eddie is getting screwed lately on the calls. He blocks nowitski, its a foul. he blocks Gasol, its a foul. its bs, eddie deserves more respect as a shot blocker.
The majority of centers suck and arent offensive threats. Eddie gets Nowitzki, Duncan, Elton Brand, Karl Malone, Stoudemire, Jermaine O' Neal, etc. etc etc. When you guard better players, you'll pick up more fouls.
Tell the guards to keep the AJ Bremers,Troy Hudsons and other scrub guards out of the lane. Most of the fouls Eddie andYao pick up are guard penetration.
