#1. An emerging C who is clearly on the way to being one of the three best in the game (Shaq, TD)
#2. Steve Francis. I know, he loves to score. So did Jordan, Iverson, even Calvin Murphy. I like his guts driving to the lane. I like his ability to hit a game winning (or tie) outside shot. I like his winners mentality. And I like the fact that he doesn't embarrass the franchise off the court.
#3. I like James Posey as our 3. A MUCH better version of Shandon Anderson. Slashes to the hoop. Plays great D. Good in transition. And ok without being the #1,2, or 3 option in the offense.
#4. I continue to like the potential of Eddie Griffin ... though as Bill Walton says ... he should be further down the road with a better concept of what his role is on the court than he currently is.
#5. I like the fact that Mo Taylor should get better as the season goes on ... rounding into shape and getting back some lift after the surgery.
#6. I like the toughness Terrence Morris brings on the court. The guy is built like Anthony Mason. I wonder why we don't use him in the old enforcer role of the traditonal #4?
#7. I like Cuttino off the bench. As our 6th man when we need offense.
#8. I like Cato as a physical presense when Yao sits. Once again, I'd like to see him go out there and punish people in the Wes Unseld mode. 18 hard minutes a night would certainly help keep Yao fresh ... and wear his man down.

I think the team wins 45 games ... 17 more than last season (28 w's I thought). I would love an upgrade at the back-up point position ... and I would love to add a Matt Bullard type of gunner
(I think Glen is about done physically). Other than that ... patience. Of course, if the team fails to win 40 ... I would think a new head coach would be a possibility.

Code... who would you put as our starting 2? If you say Moochie or Hawkin's... You ought to be smacked.

Yeah, no doubt that would deserve a good beating.

My comment really is that I don't think we have the right #2 guard yet to compliment Steve and Yao. I'd love to get a bigger, better defense playing, more consistent outside shooter than Cuttino to start.

I like Cuttino as instant offense as the 6th man.

We do have the perfect 2 to go with Yao. His name is Steve Francis. I agree with Cat off the bench.. he would be candidate for the 6th man award every year. But we need a point guard.. I agree with most of what you have to say except on cato..

Hehe, we have him right now *cough* Jim *cough*
Mobley will be our starting two this year, but next year if we can sign posey, boki might be ready to start so we can have Cuttino as our 6th man. Cuttino will win the 6th man award if he comes off the bench, but right now, I think he is fine.

You beat me to it about Cuttino and the 6th man award. I disagree with you about Francis though. He is our point guard, and if we sign Posey(please do) we wont have enough money to bring in a quality pg. If you are suggesting Mooch to start, you need brain surgery.

I think we should trade some of our forwards for a pg. I mean between Taylor, Griffin, Cato, Collier and even if we have to posey or cat that we can bring in a good pg. Maybe not a star.. but then again you don't need him to score. I said it in another post in another thread.. but Cat has a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio, and francis is only 1.6. I think a true point guard would do wonders for this team. I would say you keep Griffin if you can.. but I'm sure that any of those 6 players would be available if the price was right.

    lol NO MOOCH.

I don't really care. They can all be starters...maybe Bostjan Nachbar no.

    Steve Francis
    James Posey/Cuttino Mobley
    Glen Rice/Bostjan Nachbar
    Mo Taylor/Eddie Griffin
    Yao Ming

Terence Morris being like Anthony Mason? You must be blind. Terence Morris is not anything like Anthony Mason. He can shoot much better than Anthony Mason.
