Three good role players are better than one potential star player for THIS TEAM. We already have two main focal points being Steve and Yao, and another scorer in Cuttino.

EG IMO will never be an all-star caliber player on THIS TEAM.

I agree. He'll never be an All Star. He is too skinny...but he is a great shotblocker. He will get better!

He will be an All-Star (or at least in the numbers).

But, because of SF, CM, and Yao.

Not sure he will make it due to not enough to go around.

But in terms of talent. Yes, he's going to be a good one.

    Remember, he's 20!!!!

    This is totally true!!

YAO will not even be close to HOUSTON!!

Look at it this way: trading those picks helped us bring YAO in the following years!

The Rockets will win a championship, with Griffin and YAO as a starters. Be confident Rocket FANS!

    Go ROCKETS!!

The Dude can't even buy beer yet. I say we wait on analyzing him. At this point in Kobe or KG's career you would have thought they were busts. Wisen up peeps.

I disagree. If you think EG would be ever as good as Kobe and KG, I am afraid you hold your hope too high and are going to be disappointed. Even when Kobe and KG were 20, you could see the potential greatness from them. I don't think EG would ever be as good as them. But even he's not as good as them that didn't mean that he's a bust. He could be a good player and a prefect fit for us. And the key point is that we actually didn't need him to be that good (Kobe and KG level) to win a championship for us. EG could become a very valuable member on our future championship team and that's enough for me.

I fully expect Griffin to be a much better player than Jefferson in the long run. Griffin is a much better player on the defensive end of the court, and I like his laid back personality.

    Points per 48 minutes:
    Griifin - 16.1
    Jefferson - 21.3

    Rebounds per 48 minutes:
    Griifin - 11.9
    Jefferson - 9.0

    Blocks per 48 minutes:
    Griifin - 3.7
    Jefferson - 1.2

In fact... screw Jefferson... the cocky little b*stard dissed us after the trade.

    Richard Jefferson. He is good.

I dont know why I continue to read this forum. Nmae one other thing jefferson has done besides lay home an alley from jason kidd. In 2-3 years griffin will be leading us to a championship along with francis and yao not to mention him and yao being #1 and 2 in the league in blocks. Not this year though. WHy not? Hmmmm....MAYBE BECAUSE HES 20

If we had kept Jefferson we would have never landed the number one pick for Yao. We would have never traded Kenny for one of the best defensive players on our team, Posey...

I would rather have Yao, Griffin, and Posey than Jefferson.

Seriously, which of the following teams you talk about do you really think would trade the players you've mentioned for Griffin?

    NJ - Jefferson
    GS - Arenas
    GS - Murphy
    SA - Parker
    Ind - Tinsley

Personally, I don't think any of them would. Maybe Tinsley on talent, but Indianna isn't exactly needing a Griffin-type, they need a better PG.

I never said EG would ever be a Kobe or a Garnett, but my point was that you simply cannot judge someone so freaking young. He is still gaining his confidence and he is obviously physically gifted. You said at the end of your post you think he will be a worthy contributor and I agree with that. I also think it is a good thing that he doesn't demand the ball like a Kobe because we already have people to run the offense through. We just need a rebounder and shot blocker who can score when needed. And I think he does that pretty well.

I think you trade him if you can get somebody who is already getting 18 and 10. But that isn't likely to happen. so we have to hold our cards and see what happens. It's hard to match our value of him to another teams value of him right now.

After the game vs Sacramento, will you guys re-evaluate Eddie? :)

I like Eddie a lot but he needs to keep that type of play going longer than a one game stretch. I'm in full support of giving EG more time, but if the talk of a possible trade for Brand is true, I wish EG a lot of luck in LA.

That's true. But will Clippers give up Brand for Eddie?

No the Clippers will not give up Brand for Eddie.....

    1) Brand is a top 5 PF in the NBA.
    2) Because Brand is 3 times better than Eddie at the PF position.
    3) Brand is an automatic double double everytime he steps on the floor, while Eddie is... Eddie.
    4) The Clippers trade their best player for our 4th best player?
    5) Clippers have no use for Eddie, if they wanted to go younger they will put in Wilcox/Ely for Brand.

Theres no way we can get Brand. Clips may be stupid but not that stupid.

    No, I do not.

Patience my dear friend. Griffin yesterday against the Kings showed flashes of what he will be on a consistent basis in about 3 years. You can't teach the instincts he has defensively and on the boards, but you can teach a guy to get more arc on his shot. Once he improves his shooting percentage, he is going to be the second-coming of Robert Horry with the added bonus of a willingness to do the dirty work inside on a night-to-night basis.

Your first mistake was using logic when discussing the Los Angeles Clippers. :)
