No idea why Harden went iso at the end there. Two beautiful plays to create open shots for Morris and Parsons then heroball happened. As for Lin, not sure he's even a starter in this League. Kid has no cojones.
Iso Harden led to 2 wide open three pointers for Parsons and Morris. The problem is, those wide open 3's came when Harden drove to the basket off the iso... which it seems like he does 1/3 of the time. The other 2/3 he does a step-back fadeaway 3-pointer. I don't think I've seen him make that step-back yet.
With all the BS, I thought we did well for such a young team. Hell, we only lost by 3pts against the world champions... Great learning experience for the guys. Need to do something about the ISO's. That s*** is pissing me off...
A lot of coaching mistakes. 1) Why wasn't Ashik in for that rebound when Wayde missed the free throw. 2) Why waste a 2 second timeouts for nothing when a play to get a 2 pointer could've been made first. A timeout can then be made to draw up a 3 point shot if the Heat make both free throws. This game was lost because of coaching in the end.
Some of the worst calls going against the home team down the stretch. The Harden iso didn't work 3 times in a row, so for the final play we run...wait for it....Harden iso. Jeremy Lin air balling that 3? The only positive thing that I can take from that is: A) He was willing to step up and take that shot. & B) I remember Kobe, when he was a rookie doing the same thing. Great effort by our guys, so proud of the way that they never gave up. Very proud of their hustle and heart. So proud to be a Rocket fan. LeBron is a great player, but the sad reality is we let them get off to a fast start and had the game ripped from us by a scared little official that was stood over by the Miami big three... Now at least that ref can go back home and put on his pink underwear and dress, what a little girly punk.
heartbreaking... i dont understand why Sampson and McHale puts the players always 5 minutes left to finished... completely out of rythm... game by game always put the a player when 5 minutes left...bad decision coaching
We played our butts off tonight, only for the refs to get 2 bad calls wrong. Bosh was not fouled on the missed dunk. And Morris' foul was complete bs.
Also we need to realize that we played about as good as we could at this point in the season. When Lebron hit that three off the screen with 5 seconds left in the clock you knew how it was gonna go down. The guy is unstoppable... and even then they needed him to score about 35 and rely on a ghost call to win. There were mistakes down the stretch, but if we play a game like that we win against almost any team in the league...
Great game !! Really loved the fight from Harden. His shot wasn't falling and McHale left him out on a limb with all the isolation, but it's clear Lin is too slow and streaky of a shooter to run plays down the stretch. That relationship is a work in progress. Like I stated before the season started, Lin is going to be the contract the Rockets will have a tough time moving at the end of the season. I think a speedster like Aaron Brooks, despite having a questionable IQ, is a much better fit for the team. Plus, we know he can play big when it counts (Lakers, playoffs) and allow Harden to play off screens. Parsons and Asik were excellent. I liked the call by McHale to finish without Asik and have Morris in the corner - spacing, spacing and more spacing due to the liability that is Lin. He can only do what his personnel allows him and with no options at PG you have to make tough decisions.
Harden is overrated. Its either a 3 pointer or a drive inside. Anybody can see that coming. What peeves me off is his need for iso. Way to go to kill the offense.
The whole momentum went heats way when lin made that D league type shot or bricked it. That was a joke. i bet even douglas could have done better.
