I hate to be the one to start this thread but I am one of many who are fed up with the current state of our team. I personally am on the "trade Cuttino for a 1, move SF to 2" bandwagon, but for the first time I am growing on the idea of trading Griffin.

Of course I'm hoping some of the famed CC.net insiders will come out of the basement to post in here, but I'm asking anyone and everyone to chime in with ANY REASONABLE TRADE SCENARIO THAT YOU'VE HEARD THE ROCKETS ARE ENTERTAINING.

Let me just say that this is for entertainment purposes only, so to all those "glass half empty" people, go to another thread.

I'm just trying to find some entertaining reads to get me through these rough patches where it becomes obvious to us all that THIS team isn't going to do it.

The Oakland Tribune reports the Grizzlies are unhappy with Drew Gooden and are looking to deal him away before the Feb. 20 trade deadline. According to the Tribune, Memphis has grown tired of his "lack of defensive intensity, quick trigger on the offensive end and his propensity for pouting about playing time."

Might this be an opportunity for the Rockets? But which player would we be willing to part with, and which player (and our draft pick) would be Grizz be covetous?

Well, we also know that the Hawks are aggressively pursuing a trade (according to Sports Illustrated). Terry? Shareef? Robinson? Take your pick...

the problem is, our team is loaded with this type of player. Do we really need another whiny ball hog at the four?

perhaps a complete balance of whiny ballhogs would be best. Right now we're imbalanced. Most of our bigs don't whine enough and don't (get the chance to) hog the ball.

we need to keep the core of our team together. How is a team supposed to grow if they dont play together? this team is so young...age wise....and playing to gether wise.

I agree. I'd rather have big men asking for the ball instead of our guards running around.

I really like Cuttino, but he has to go. We need to get either a very good shooting guard or an intelligent and quick point guard who can shoot. I don't know how we can find one...free agents...draft.

Eddie Griffin. Eddie's great, but I would trade him for someone better. I would like Drew Gooden. He is a good player. Well at least he played good against us on Monday. I'm not sure if his defense is any good, though. Theo Ratliff would be a nice shotblocker to replace Eddie. Glenn Robinson is also a good player, but we already have too many small forwards. We don't want to get shorter. Jason Terry would be nice with Steve Francis. But he is kind of a ballhog. But he is a good player.

I will support any trade that will make the Rockets a better team.

That's the most insightful suggested remedy for the Rockets I've seen so far. :D

Since when is a random trade thread considered "obligatory"?
