Holy god, didn't think it was that fast at school. But then I suspect its being used by about 300 computers as well.
And it won't anytime soon. I wish FIOS would start up again. There needs to be a bigger effort in reaching out to some of these big metros and getting residential Fiber at least started. A lot of schools usually have high speeds. Drexel University in Philly has one of the highest I've seen. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5uOoZ8qxr7I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Thanks! FIOS is the best thing to happen to my home in a long time. Although my supposed max speed is supposed to be 75/30, this will do for now . They also have 150Mbs and 200Mbs plans..maybe one day.
I have 50 up and down at home but I don't use it because my router can't handle it and I'm too cheap to upgrade it. Surfing and watching movies is fast enough and smooth enough that I don't know if it's worth the upgrade.
I'm way out in west Spring and my internet is....get this....750 kbps using AT&T DSL. My only other option is Charter Cable which I had never heard of previous to buying my house and who consistently rates poorly among reviewers but I'm going to take the plunge and have them come out Saturday. They claim 30 mbps and told me that I should get close to that even way out in the woods I call home.
