The Hobbit is being released in brand new HFR(High Frame Rate) 48fps. Tickets go on sale TOMORROW. Here is the theater lists for 48 fps

Digi IMAX 48fps is the way to go. I don't think the full blown legit IMAX's are capable with the 3D however.
