Malone is probably in better condition than the majority of the NBA regardless of age. To use him as a barometer is not saying much. ------------------ I got nothin'.
Whoa a thought just entered my mind that scared me. That Cato would win the block title. ------------------ The best is yet to come. Go Rockets!
To me, if for whatever reason hakeem cant earn his money on the court its time to do it off the court. I was really disappointed last year when he got hurt and didn't travel with the team. He can contribute so much to this team and never get on the court. We have two young post players that he could really help out with. Does anyone know who he hangs out with on the team? Does hakeem have ANY friends? ------------------
Not a lot of interest around the league for Williams? Hmnnn. I read how the Nets wanted to trade us Kendall Gill for him (not that we needed another Shandon Anderson type player). I also read how the Hornets were interested. I know, I know, don't believe everything you read. But I guess these two possibilities could have been the only phone calls we received for him, who knows? Doesn't matter now anyway. Or maybe it does. We want to get under the cap next year. ------------------
I'd take Kendall Gill for Walt in a heartbeat. Where'd you hear that? ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
Dream might not have what it takes to hustle on the court nowadays, but he could probably take Collier and Langhi to school during practice. His most effective contribution he can make to the team now is to show the 2 rookies how it's done in the NBA, and with his experience and guidence, we would be needing to search elsewhere for backup Cs. ------------------ Do not harm little children!
The Walt Williams-Kendall Gill trade was mentioned, I believe, near the trade deadline. I don't know who we would have sent along with Walt, or if other Nets players were involved. It's been so long now that I honestly can't say with any certainty that I saw it on nba.talk. Maybe bskball.com/Rumors? It wasn't in therocketguy or I wouldn't bother mentioning it now; after all, why get Gill when you already have Ray Allen (chortle)? I know I wasn't hallucinating this. The Rockets backed out because of the uncertainty with Gill's free agency. This is before Walt started playing well, and by then the trade deadline was gone. This rumor, with or without merit, was why I kept envisioning trade scenarios with New Jersey during draft-time. Everything I came up with was crap, of course. But I thought, well, new Jersey, if you wanted Walt before, take him now. And I'll probably keep wondering what we might possibly manage to get in trade for him, even if the answer now seems, well, nada. Niente. Nulla. Nani-mo. Zilch. Jack-s**t. ------------------
