LOL!

So, I was ready this at the table thinking...that Van Gogh one is definitely going into the Fran memorial thread.

Oh, we can also put the deal about lame research about Mobley never being in the playoffs.

Anyone thinking of chiming in to make a point about that being an asterix year playoff for Mobes or sumpin...was I talking to you? Didn't think so.

Are there any quotes around from Francis after the game yesterday. I wonder if he still thinks the Mavs are no good.

The way I read it, he means that they "together", meaning not once since they have been "together" as a guard tandem, have they been to the playoffs..

    but what do I know?...

I agree with Fran, its time to get this out in the open instead of brushing it aside claiming youth and inexperience. Our backcourt has been exposed for the undisciplined & ignorant form of basketball that it plays.

Its time to trade Mobley & Cato for Latrell Sprewell!!!!

Cato's stock is up and Mobley just doesnt fit on this team.

Sprewell will come to work every night and bring some true grit to this team. He would add a 6'6 shooting guard dimension, with nice offensive skills and leadership. Between him and Posey this team would fly down the court.

Hey, being a Rockets reporter is pretty easy. Just come in here. Cut and paste the comments. And polish the article a little bit with some rhetorical stuff like the Van Gogh thing. Voila, a piece to publish!

Perhaps a pro wrestling reference would have been easier for you to follow?

Oh, I get it. The painter. Who cut off his ear. My bad.

I just did not know who Van Gogh was. For a moment, I thought it was the 5 millionth bad simile from a local newspaper columnist whose badly-written pieces, at best, parrot the most obvious complaints and praise from the most pedestrian local sports fan. I had it confused with the 5 millionth bad simile from a local newspaper coulmnist whose milquetoast, borderline-unreadable pieces, at worst, are written to serve his own interests -- slamming players who do not give him access to their homes and jocking the ones who kiss his ass -- rather than the interest of the readers, the paper, or the sport itself.

But now that I understand who Vincent Van Gogh is, the comparison works like a Magritte on acid. It works like a Beethoven in a hearing aid factory. It works like a Robbins on Haldol. It works like a Balke on bass. It works like a Barros on a computer. It works like a...

Cat mentioned that the Mavericks have an identity, but the Rockets are still working on theirs. That's the problem. The team is full of a bunch of young talented players who play like they've each got something to prove. Francis feels he's got to earn the nickname Franchise. Cuttino is trying to be an all star. Mo Taylor is trying to show that he's back from the injury and worth his huge free agent contract. There's too much internal strife on this team. Too many Raging Bulls ("I coulda been a contender"-types).

Until they get some leadership (preferably from a coach who imposes a system on these folks) or until some player emerges successfully as the go to guy, the Rockets are going to be a disjointed bunch of losers.

Would the team with the top pick be willing to take Francis and Cuttino for LeBron?

It's painful to watch them play like this.

Accountability. The Rockets guards are too quick to make excuses and blame others. They blame Dallas's zone defense. They blame the referees. They say they beat themselves. They need to ball up and take responsibility for their play, and by responsibility, I mean they need to change their pattern of trying to make SportsCenter highlights and try to win by playing a team game.

I mean if Kobe can't win a championship by himself and Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker can't do it either, what makes Francis and/or Mobley think that they can?

me too. people get on him becuase he jocks the Dream over and over. Well I jock Hakeem too since he is the only athlete to bring H-Town any titles that count.

Blinebury props those that should be praised, and bashes those that should be blasted. And the current Rockets should be blasted for their inept offense and lack of leadership.

most people who "can't stand Fran", can't handle the truth anyway.

That is a misconception...he didn't cut off his ear, he just cut off a little part of his lobe. And it was on his right ear. :)

I am NOT very impressed with the structure of Fran's piece but yours above is down right unreadable and poor (for someone trying to poke holes). Just my opinion bro.
