Ima bully some bullies. Fandom bully contest participation up ins:

- I'm in my mid 30s and have been watching the Rockets since the late 80s / early 90s.

- I own at least two faded orange T-shirts with Hakeem Olajuwon's face plastered all over them

- I have the Houston Chronicle's promotional CD after the Rockets chipped still sitting somewhere in a box. It featured such forgettable hits as "[Hoop] there it is!"

- And the crusher. I played college basketball for the University of Houston under Alvin Brooks, before the death throes of the Southwest Conference.

- I've met and chatted with Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler four and six times respectively at various alma mater and charity events

- Let me know if I'm "Houston" enough for you as I roll my eyes so hard at you my retinas detach.

- smh, Clutchfans can make better threads than this piece of garbage

Lol well we all know who the bandwagon fans are....the ones who got butt hurt from this thread. I know it sucks to be labeled as one, but its the truth. there are fans that just latch on to what's the current cool thing.

Here's your chance to prove you are more than just a bandwagon fan. How long you guys stick with his team through thick and thin will determine if you really are just on the bandwagon.

I actually don't mind new fans. Ita the "fans" that want to come back to the Rockets after being Lakers and Heat fans for a couple years. It's the fans that are always negative, crying about how Morey cant land a big deal or how they want to keep tanking. Those are the fans that irk me.

The thread where insecure Rockets fans make a deliberate effort to differentiate themselves from and elevate themselves above others, as though they alone hold the keys to True Fandom. The thread that finally sinks clutchfans down to the level of a lakersground or a realgm.

I don't see why it's a big deal to have bandwagon fans. It's normal. And honestly, how many fans didn't start off as a bandwagon fan? Especially for a city like Houston? I admit, although I love basketball, I probably wouldn't be as loyal to the Rockets if it weren't for the Hakeem days. And I've stuck around for 20 years now.

I don't even mind the new Jeremy Lin fans. Some of them are very knowledgeable and give some great insights. Sure, some of them will start threads that are blatantly anti-Rockets and seem stupid, but after the Yao era it's hardly a big deal.

 

If you only love Dragic or Lowry, then you come to the wrong site.

If you only remember the long past history and dont support the current team players, you should retired from this site and do something else.

If we newcomers are proud of the rockets players and support rockets team now, we will be proud to stand in the front of the line.

Now who show me the line? I am not going to stand behind the line.

 

I feel strangely offended only because i lurked for months only to finally make an account in 2012... now im symbolically labeled and compared to LOFs and HOFs and bandwagoners of all sorts... aghhh it is what it is...

I would say obviously if you have been a fan since the 80s he isn't talking to you, but it obviously wasn't obvious to you so get to the back of the ****ing line.

TBH, I don't mind bandwagon fans. I just don't think they should be able to start threads for a couple of years.

 

After all these royal fans die, there would be no more fans and this forum can close.

 

Anybody who joined after Jun 2012 should keep quiet until 5 years later. Please sit quietly and have a lecture from true rockets fans who joined before Jun 2012 until 5 years later you can pass a test of knowledge about rockets history.
