Granted I'm surprised at how "well" cato has played so far this year. Butl for what its' worth, I'd like to see Cato gone. I mean his stock is about as high as its going to get with his good first half of the season but at some point he's bound to revert back to the lacksidacial (sp?) player he is. And come on look at his first 5 years. I'm sure we could find another team who thinks they can turn him into a starter lol.

I like the cat too... and I don't think we can get rid of him... that would upset the franchise (or at least the smaller half of the franchise), but wouldn't it be nice to get someone a little more consistant and can you imagine a true pg and francis at the two? And wasn't strong defense the reason he was nicknamed the cat? What happened to that?

That said here's a deal... mobly, cato and a draft pick to the clips for andre and either a 4 or a 5? We can move francis to the sg like he should be..

Or here's one I like I don't think it could happen... but Cato and Cat to the T-wolves for Marc Jackson and Troy Hudson. I really like Jackson, hard nosed gets alot of boards and can score a little mostly garbage.. but doesn't have to have the ball, he's been stuck behind some fornt line players though. Again move stevie to the sg, let hudson distribute... I don't know what salaries are like. Hell throw in a conditional draft pick or two (tempt them with a first rounder if we wind up in the lottery).

Cato is a monster on the glass and a good shot-blocker. I would go as far as say Cato is one of the top reserve big men in the league and is a legit 7-foot big man. Why on earth would we get rid up him? Love or hate Cato, the guy is far from a scrub.

slowly walk away from the keyboard. You must be on some drug if you think cat and cato for troy hudson and mark Jackson is a fair trade. Are you a T-wolves fan:confused:

Why is it that people defend Cato so much? That's what I don't understand.. we're paying him about 6 mil a year for what 5ppg and 6rpg? Well that's an outstanding value for our money. Jackson on the other hand was a legitimate starter, but after being hurt and now behind KG, his numbers have dropped. Ming will certainly be ready for starters minutes next year, which would make cato the most overpaid backup center in the league.

On Mobley: The guy can flat out score, I'll give you that, but he's so erratic. Not only that, but imagine steve playing the two, his more natural position, with somebody to distribute the ball. And Imagine how much more effective Ming would be if he were the number 2 go to guy on the team instead of the number 3. Didn't we learn from the big three with hakeem/barkley/pippen that there is such a thing as too many scorers? A guy who is capable of shooting well over 50% is going to make the offense much more efficient than somebody who hovers around 40%. Hudson doesn't have to get the shots that mobley does and he gives us a true point. I like Francis either way, but I like him much better at the two than the point.

It is possible to disagree without sounding like a smart ass.

    Rocketmike,

imo, any trade that involves that stubborn Cat is worth looking into.

I guess its also possible to let personal hatred for Cat cloud your judgement when it comes to dumb ass trades.

    Troy Hudson.

If you picked up that I hate the Cat then boy are you off base. It's actually Cato that I hate. I just happen to think that if Francis, Ming, and Cat are going to be on the court we need to petition the NBA to have another ball used in the game. Getting a true point and a guy who isn't making 6mil for 2mil stats would be a great thing.

If you are a Rockets fan then why would you hate any of the Rockets?

Troy Hudson has a career average of 3.3 assts. Yeah what a true pg.

Find me another damn player that is averaging close to 20 pts and 3 ast per game and is making less then 2 million dollars. Actually find me another damn player that is averaging those stats while making 5 million dollars (Cuttino's salary).

You're accusing Mobley of being overpaid? Ask fans of other teams about that. Do you realize the green he could be making? Do you realize the paycut he took to stay here? Sports need more of that.

Hudson? He's known for his aggressive play which is attached to his scoring. He doesn't pass a whole lot more than Mobley. His defense is just pretty good. Troy is an overachiever, and I like guys who work hard, but it would be foolish to trade Mobley for him, period.

You hate Cato? Why? He's currently sitting at the top of the board in the entire league in rebounds per 48 minutes (well, tied with Ben Wallace). He's big, he's tough, he rebounds, he blocks shots, he catches alley-oops. Can he shoot? No. Is he overpaid? Yes. But that's not his fault. It takes a really special guy (say, oh, Mobley) to turn down millions of dollars when it's offered to him. You want to give this guy up for Marc Jackson? Yeah, he can kinda shoot, and he's a decent post-up guy. But he isn't even a year younger, he's smaller, he isn't a good rebounder, and he can't block shots at all. So you want to give up a top rebounder and shotblocker for a guy who's only strength is scoring? Weren't you saying something about a "petition to have another ball used in the game?"

i'm of the opinion this is a ridiculous trade suggestion as well, but would also like to point out it wouldn't work salary wise. troy hudson and marc jackson get paid NOTHING.

Marc Jackson actually signed a pretty big contract recently. MCE money IIRC. I don't know Troy Hudsons salary. Why the Rockets would want to downgrade two positions escapes me though.
