uh oh! Where is Rocket03 and his unconditional jock riding of Mobley? You have it coming for bashing the most flawless rockets player in franchise history, clutch.
Yeah Yeah Cuttino sucked big time tonight. Kind of funny though how Clutch only seems to pick on Cuttino. Our Franchise player didn't exactly light the world on fire either. You guys wanna make fun of Cuttino then don't forget Steve either. I am not trying to defend Cuttino tonight (he SUCKED!), but Rudy needs to take his head out of his ass. I have not bashed Rudy for two years now, but this loss is mostly on the coaching staff. For some wierd ass reason Cuttino kept on running to Nash tonight to get the ball out of his hand. I am assuming Rudy was telling Cuttino to double team Dirk or Nash. My question is why? Francis seemed to doing okay against Nash defensively. Finley was wide open for those three pointers. How about Rudy switching it up a little bit. Put Posey or Hawkins on Finley, Mobley on Nash and Steve on Raja Bell. That seemed to work for a few possesions in the second quarter. Cuttino is not the only one that shamed us tonight. But of course some of you guys unending hatred for Cat wont let u see that. If we win then Steve or Yao get most of the credit. If we lose then its mostly Cuttinos fault.
I am never one to hold back on criticizing both Francis and Mobley.... I believe in equal opportunity bashing. Francis was awful in every facet of the game today.
I'm with Kidrock. I'm going to bash players when they play bad...but just because I bash one player, it isn't my 'sworn duty' to do a team critique of everyone who played badly in the game. Why don't you do that instead of bashing other posters that don't want to. Besides, I don't think I left out steve in my other posts.
That is hilarious. The reason I have a problem with Cat and not Francis is Francis has all-star talent, Cat does not. Cat is an overacheiver who thinks he's an all-star and plays like he is an all-star. He's not. He's a hard working, above average shooting guard who does not make very good decisions. This team needs a lobotomy. Rudy T. is clueless and cannot make any adjustments during the course of the game. He is joined by 2 assistant coaches whose primary duties the last few years were as video editors, and a 3rd who's been a career assistant with no head coaching experience anywhere. Meanwhile in Dallas, you have Dell Harris who has more experience than the entire Rockets staff. And he's their freakin assistant. Add in Don Nelson and you have a blowout the size of tonight's game. The other best team in the league- Sacramento, you have Adelman who is decent and Pete Carill former Princeton head coach for about 100 years whose teams were well known for overacheiving and playing sound funadamental basketball that drove teams nuts in the NCAA tournament. This team has no direction, no discipline, and no leadership on or off the bench. It's an asylum of players that think theyre better than they really are and a humble giant who is too selfless for his own good. A maddening combination.
I have more problem with Francis than Mobley. As you said Francis has all-star talent but he doesn't fully utilize it. He should and could do a lot better but he did not. You can't really blame Mobley for his lack of natural talent.
I blame Mobley because he thinks he has all-star talent when he is only above average. Francis has that talent but is playing out of position and relied too heavily upon to carry this team when he can't. It's unfair to ask a player who is a natural SG to play PG, lead the team in scoring, be the best passer, run the offense, create opportunities for other people and also rebound and play 45 minutes a night. If one has to go, it has to be Mobley.
At the same time, Francis is always insisting that he really is a PG. All he is lacking to be a PG, is a Guido Marx (sp?) disguise.
You're right, and it's sad to see our playmaker regress in the most important facet of the game for him. I contend however still that the biggest problem with the team is Cuttino Mobley. You must get a different style player at that position. Mobley reminds me of like a CBA player who became the offensive focus of a team because all 5 starters got injured. All 5 starters return and nothing shakes this dude's mindset.
Check this out: Mobley fouls Finley behind the 3 point line. Next play, who brings up the ball? Mobley. Jacks up a stupid shot. Next play, he makes another stupid foul. Complains to the refs. Next play, he comes down and...JACKS UP ANOTHER ONE. A few minutes later? Another dumb, way too aggressive foul on Finley behind the 3 point line. I am so sick of his all-star mentality. The day he loses a step, the guy will be LESS than CBA material. I don't know if he is the dumbest player in the league because Ron Artest is making a case for himself also. But I can tell you this. He didn't score alot when he was here. He didn't rebound consistently. He didn't shoot particularly well sometimes. But I would have Shandon Anderson in a COMA before Mobley. Mobley has to go. And yes, Francis had a bad game also. But unlike Mobley, FRANCIS IS THAT GOOD. Mobley is NOT. Mobley is a legend...an all-star...in his own empty head.
Not to mention Avery Johnson on the bench, who is a strong candidate to be the next head coach for Dallas.
