I want to see old Hakeem. I want to see old Charles Barkley. Not early 90's in thier prime B.S. We see too much of that. I want dunks and blocks. I want to see what Charles's post up game looked like in 86. I want to see Hakeem punch somone in the throat. That's why I hate David Stern, he wont let loose of old games for real fans to watch. Imagine a 1987 regular season game between the 76ers and the Rockets....That would be so cool to watch, OH!!! Blazers Games!!! Blazers games!!! but NOOOOO all the retro stuff we get to see on TV are the same damn highlights of bird, jordan, majic and hakeem. All from the finals. Or we get some ancient bob Coosie crap. Dammit I want 80's Basketball!!!!!!! Regular season NBA games were the only good thing about the 80's!!!! (well...the Eurythmics were good)

Aside from calling random people in philidelphia and begging them for thier Beta Max collection, anyone got any ideas on how we can get them to start releasing that stuff?? Anyone got an in on the system???

I am a HUGE Charles Barkley fan but i'm only 15 so I didn't get a chance to CB in the 80's. I remember a highlight of Charles posting up and he spinned past two defenders and slammed on another one. I would love to see more of those power-postups Charles had.

yeah fromobile. This thread belongs in the Stern is a jerk forum.

They should have a basketball channel where they show cool GAMES(not commentary with stupid hosts) 24 7. I mean hell, they already have a freaking golf channel.

Well, I'm not really looking for game tapes from you guys, that's why I didn't post it on the memorabelia forum. I'm saying this as a current Houston Rockets related event. We need to lobby. Somebody here's gotta have free time to start an angry group; People for the Liberation of Eighties NBA Games. PLENBAG!!!!! WHO'S WITH ME?????? PLENBAG!!! PLENBAG!!!! we should be able to order entire seasons of NBA games. We need access!!!! If I see another Detroit v. Chicago game I'm going to kill people! Does anyone have any ideas???

Last post was better, FMB. Daved Stern kicks ass, what are you talking about. Plus, WE have all those games on tape at home, you know that.

    Inauspicious re-birth, my man.

Look Chucky club, whatever. The point is that he's a jerk because he makes it so hard to share the wealth. I don't really know anything about David Stern, EXCEPT for that when I sat next to him during Game 3 of the 95 finals openly said that he wished the Magic would win.
I'm just trying to get a collective thinkpool on how a person can gain access to the NBA archive. We've only got the early nineties on tape at home. No Eighties.

I wonder who got fired for sitting Stern next to you at that game. In fact, Stern probably posts on this board - maybe he goes by the name "Jenna's Revenge."

I dont think he ever said he wanted Orlando to win - I seem to recall some fan with a fro taunting Willow Bay, but I do not recall the Stern story. I went to college with his son. Nice guy.

We do too have 80s games on tape, I will find them when I come to Houston. Early October. Just go find a Betamax, I can set you up.

show me a Rockets v Philly game from the 80's and I will indeed lay down my sword. However I still think that there should bo some preassure, especially with the growth of the internet, to give people access. They should put that crap up on an interenet server one of these days. No reason not to.

Matter of fact I heard that there is a library in New York that has everything that has ever been on T.V. ever in it. Bet there's some phat round mound of rebound at that place.
