Walt is the man until Langhi steals the show.

talking about WW look at this, he made the
TOP 20 FANTASY SLEEPERS.. this is what they had to say about walt.....

    8. Walt Williams, Rockets: He finished last season with several 20-point games. Houston is an exciting and youthful team that plays with an open style, which suits The Wizard's game. Expect 100-plus 3-pointers, 12-14 ppg and decent all-around numbers this season.

    Also , Cato was mentioned.....

    10. Kelvin Cato, Rockets: A specialty player who should crack the top-10 in blocks. Cato is a big, quick leaper who can dunk on most in the paint and grab boards by the handful. He could be a 10-10 player if he sees enough playing time.

All I gotta say is good thing we didn' make a trade for Ruben Patterson. He was arrested for beating a man outside a club in Cleveland. He may be in jail for awhile.

Wiz will start but is way to inconsistent to suit my taste

As far as I'm concerned the SF spot is up for grabs. Neither Walt nor Langhi is the starting SF for the Rockets yet.

Walt Williams will be the starting SF. He impressed Rudy T. with his good play towards the end of the season. Cuttino Mobley, Steve Francis and Moochie Norris all look up to Williams like an older brother. Mobley and Maurice Taylor each said in their press conference that they feel good about next season and each mentioned Williams can be one of contributers next season.

    This thread is annoying.

The wink links on this team are rebouding and defense. Offensive rebounding shouldn't be that big of a deal, if only because the team shoots so well. Defensive rebounding will fall on the whole team (b/c teams play open and want to shoot alot more jump shots... i.e. boards that travel further away from the front court) and Walt is not a slouch there. His defense is adequate, if only because he's long.

    In a lineup that includes:

    Kelvin Cato
    Mo Taylor
    Walt Williams
    Shandon Anderson
    and Steve Francis

or in any of the derivatives w/ Moochie, Cuttino, Langhi, Thomas or Dream...

Walt Williams will be solvent. He's not the weak link in any of those lineups that you can imagine Rudy actually implementing.

Besides, most people slated WW for the pink slip when he shot poorly in the beginning of the year. Overall, he shot 46% for the year. Not bad at all, considering 1) he shoots from the outside and 2) his teammates shot much worse.

Smeg, quit using Walt to confuse everyone's hatred for Cuttino. Walt rebounded 4 boards a game in 24 minutes. In the bulk of his earlier minutes he played w/ Chuck and Dream. Dream isn't a great rebounder, but he's above average... and... there was noone getting boards when Chuck played other than Chuck. That's no fault of Walt's.

I'll tally Walt's rbg after January when I get a chance.

I just did April... it was 5.5 boards per game.

If Walt continues to play at the level he did at the end of the season, he should be a solid contributor, there's no doubt that he should start based on his experience and what he did for the team in the last 15 games or so, however, if he lacks the consistency, and Langhi proves him self, then the position is up for grabs. Look for them to share the time at the SF.....

I believe I am one of the rare few who likes the play of BOTH Walt and Dangerous Dan Langhi.

The reality is - WW is the starting SF. Wiz will play 27 to 32 min/g. This is consistent with his season ending hot streak.

Shandon will pickup about 8-12 SF minutes. The remaining 8 to 12 minutes will be Langhi's depending on how hot/cold Walt is and what's working matchup wise on the floor.

The only thing that changes this is an extreme (and unlikely) situation where Walt just totally craters and Langhi rises to the expectation level of his most ardent fans.
