Big Motiejunas fan but are you serious? Have you watch my man play defense against stronger PFs and Cs? Motiejunas has the height and post moves but he is in no way more ready to battle it out then Morris was against the Detroit big men. Jones maybe but ultimately, it is a mute point as Morris wasn't really destroyed he just got worked on a few plays but still got 7 boards tying for second highest on the team. Will Jones and Motiejunas be better then Morris eventually, that is very possible but let's not go overboard.
time to invent new position call 3.5---for those that cant isnt fast enough for 3, and strong enough for the 4. and their main responsibility? sit on the bench
I, unlike most other people on Clutch, really like McHale as a coach. One big reason is that I know McHale will do anything and everything possible to win a game. When the rookies can contribute to wins, rest assured they will play.
I like your analysis of him being a bust  I think he just doesn't understand offense concept of spacing, cutting, off-ball movement. He just look for his shot instead of being active like Parson. Plus his handle is subpar for the 3 pos
Never said he was a bust. He was spacing the floor well. He was cutting. Moving. Most players get out muscled by Maxiell. How about you just give Morris some credit? The boards that were "coming his way" didn't just land on his lap. He was going in for them and reaching for them. Y'all are acting like he just stood around.
I am surprised that McFail didn't even play Terrence Jones. Is he injured? Terrence Jones is the best rookie playing the best basketball and you play Marcus Morris?? Are you kidding? Is McFail on drug? I even go as far as saying Terrence Jones is A BETTER player than Patterson.
High five! hope jones get the start soon and let morris stay on the bench and work towards a 3 and/or 4 instead of a 3.5.
It did tick me off when I looked at the box score and saw Terrance Jones didn't play. Especially with this team being sooo young plus all the mistakes that were being made in the game... I was like heck everybody might as well be a rookie outside Harden.
This is his first season, in the sense that he was with the Vipers virtually all last season. He has played his first game of the season and he is already worthless I am with you. If he is to get better, he needs to overcome his jitters and playing him is the best medicine for this.
This is Clutchfans, you don't get time to make those mistakes. We expect a polished, picture perfect game, every game...no excuses.
He doesn't have to have a perfect game. He just has to do better than last night. He should be better than what he showed last night. The guy only played in 17 games last season, but he also played in the D-league, had many practices, a summer league and a preseason(somewhat) to get better. If we have rookies coming in looking to jump past him in the rotation, then what is his excuse?
Players have bad games. Especially players that are inexperienced. 17 games of garbage, summer league, a preseason game and coming off an injury does not make him immune to bad games. He could be a bust. The guys that see him in practice gave him a start which makes me believe he at least still has the potential to be a solid role player. He probably has half a season before White and DMo push him for PT. Jones is close.
Totally agree with you. Some folks around here act like movie critics who only saw the movie trailers. The coaching staff see's them everyday in practice and would have more knowledge about his skills than anybody on this garm.
