ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Pistons 10/31/2012

The WCF Spurs almost got beat by the Hornets. Take that into perspective, knee-jerk fans.

 

GREAT game. Do we have a lot to work on? Yes, of course. We are a young team and will have ups and downs all season.

But I *loved* what I saw from Harden, Lin, Smith (hopefully he's okay) and Asik. Delfino had a good 4th quarter as well. This team is very exciting to watch. Hopefully we can snag a playoff birth.

In any event, the next few years are gonna be FUN TO WATCH!

It's Halloween...

 

My thoughts on the game

Negatives

1. Rebounding wasn't quite there, could be a problem this season
2. Rockets looked like they did lack a big inside offensive guy
3. Defense wasn't that good and will prove to be a problem this season
4. Parsons needs to gain a bit of control
5. Morris and douglas were trash
6. Due to being a young team it looked like some guys tried to do too much with the ball
7. Rockets looked like they could do with another 7'0 when Asik isn't on the floor
8. Outside of Asik no one to protect the paint

Positives

1. Harden had a great overall game and was able to take pressure off of Lin on the offensive end
2. Fast team, we were able to run a lot to create easy points
3. Our main guys shot the ball well
4. I felt the team was actually trying to play like a team with a lot of unselfishness happening
5. Harden
6. Came back from 11 down in the 4th, to already come back to win a game could tell us we got some guys with guts
7. Delfino was cold blooded with the 3

 

I think that goes for all clutch fans tonight lol

 

Anyone watching the Suns/Warriors game? I miss Scola and Gogi

 

Pure speculation , but maybe morey told mchale to give Morris all of those mins because he's advertising him for a potential trade coming in a few months? Obviously it didn't work well , but I'm pretty sure that's what they did with Martin in the Pre season?

 

A win always feels good. A word of caution though, we should iron out those deficiencies quickly. The scouts are out and it doesn't take much from a good team to expose us. It will not be pretty.

 

Marcus didn't have a great game, but he is just coming back from injury. He was 3-10 and had 7 boards (4-off) in 26 minutes. It wasn't terrible. He did better in 1st half.

Smith played well too. Dude doesn't miss many shots.

 

Really, there isn't much for other teams to scout.

Asik defends the Rim. Outside of Lin/Harden/Delfino, there aren't alot of scoring threats.

The score was a tale of 2 units... 1st unit 10 point lead, 2nd unit 20 point swing, 1st unit get back in the game and another 10 point lead, etc.

If I'm the other team, just gotta try to slow down Harden/Lin and when they're out the bench cleans our clocks....

Hopefully the rooks learn fast... Harden/Lin/Delfino/Asik won't be enough to get us far without help.

 

I hope you're right, but Morey better stop advertising his post-game interviews then, know what I mean? Know what I mean? Know what I mean?

Delfino was the 2nd reason we won this game tonight. Those 3's got us back in quickly and we never looked like slowing down afterwards.

 

Just give us Josh Smith now so we can start preparing for the playoffs.

 

i wish that i could of heard bill's call of the game tonight... i wanted to hear what he had to say during the game with hardens play

 

Yeah, after 93% in preseason he breaks out 100% to start season. We're those dunks or how did he play? Seems like he has finally caught on.

 

We have one, Motiejunas, McHale just refuses to play him

 

As the game went on, I think he started having orgasms at Harden's play and kept trying to hide it. There was some heavy breathing and definitely some verbal ejaculations. Bill might be able to stop taking Viagra if Harden plays like this all season. I know what my plans are with my S.O. after I hit the sack. Why take Viagra with you have The Harden?

 

2 were nice dunks, and 1 was a sweet hook over Monroe. 2 free throws as well. Can't remember the rest. I thought he looked good. I want to see him and TJ coming off the bench.
