I know what you mean. Sometimes I can't actually believe we're in the middle of the playoff hunt, because we looks so bad. But is it possible that other teams even look WORSE! I mean, how would we know? I, for one, only watch other teams play occasionally. I don't watch them enough to make a fair comparison to the Rockets, who I watch every game and see every little mistake. My guess are teams like the Sonics, Warriors, Hawks, Celtics, 76ers, Magic, and Bucks are just as frustrating to watch, but we don't witness every single, little mistake that they make like we do with the Rockets. However, the Wizards are a team I do watch a lot, and I can tell you for sure that the Rockets do not look as bad as they do.
I don't watch Wizards much. But I guess they look bad because they have lesser basketball talent. But we look bad because well we all know the reasons...
This is a good post. I might actually say that #2 and #3 are more like a #2 and a #2.1 in my case. don't get me wrong, I want the Rockets to win first and foremost, but I HATE watching stupid basketball so much, it almost ruins a victory for me. Depends on the level of crappiness, or course. I can almost tolerate the "take it to the hole vs. 4 guys" mentality from somebody (hint: ) if it's 2 minutes to go, he's scored 40 points already and we're up by 20. and if he has >8 assists. and <2 turnovers. and.. never mind, I can't ever stand it.
If we played smart basketball, there's a chance we might advance past the 1st round since we won't be up against the Kings, Mavs, or Spurs. But then, that's probably a big IF that's not gonna happen this season. Codell is right, propose a bet that doesn't make you look good automatically.
I think depending upon who we play in the 1st round, we may have a chance to get out of the 1st round this year, and thats if we make the playoffs this year.
