I have been a season ticket for the last couple of years. It seems to me the quality of the halftime performances has gone down this year. Is it just me or do others miss the halftime performers we have had over the last several years?
I have to agree with you. My Girlfriend and I bring crossword puzzles to keep us busy during the halftimes nowadays. The shows are just so boring/stupid that nothing at all would be better than those. Of course the worst I have seen this season, and ever, would definitely be the drummers. GET RID OF THEM!!!!! Pugs
Go to the can during halftime...Heck, go to the can during the games...It's probably more entertaining...
The drummers are the most ridiculous thing in the world. They some how make me want to just leave the game because of how lame they are. A protest is in order to get rid of the idiots.
Some half-times have been really good though. The Clutch City Shootout has been great . . . Although that Jazzercise thing the other day was just awful!
I agree.. I went to about 6-7 games over christmas break.. and the halftime shows are kinda lame.. I mean.. they could find something better...the clutch shootaround ones are entertaining.. but.. What do they do at other arenas? I also don't like the starting lineup thing.. it's boring.. doesn't get me pumped. I know there have been a lot of threads about this.. so, I'll stop the buck here!
When I went to a few Rockets game, they either had people jumping on trampolines, or Chinese acrobates juggling huge vases. I want to see some three on three midget basketball.
Im a season ticket holder also and I whole heartedly agree. The Clutch City Shoot Out is entertaining. And I cant think of anything else this season that has stood out. Ive only missed 3 home games this season. The worst half time show is a skit between Turbo, Clutch, and the Power Dancers. It left me feeling ripped off. Speaking of skits, I think the Yao Bear playing "this old man" to Jordan and Clutch calling Shaq "chicken" was extremely tasteless and displayed a lack of class.
I've never really payed attention to the Halftime Shows but usually it's a good time for: 1. Releasing the large soft drink that was bought before the 1st quarter. 2. Buying some nice food. 3. Buying more drinks to swallow the food down. 4. Roaming around the Compaq Center. 5. Looking for better seats to grab.
My god, i was just speachless when they had that last Friday. I even saw 2 dudes dancing along with the group. They even pushed out the Detroit Commentators out of the court and they had to do their halftime segment from there seats. Then they play that stupid game, "Lets Make a Deal", the game where you can pick "Aramark" Gift Certificates (basically gift certificates you can ONLY use at the food court at the Compaq Center) or get whats in a box. Most of the time, the big prize is a trip to a road game. Then they have fraud gifts such as temporary tatoos and other crap. Who the hell is actually going to take the Aramark Certificates and usually if you are the last one to pick, they tell you which the best prize is left. I remember some guy got skybox seats for him and 10 other people. Probably the best Halftime show this season is the one game i didnt go to, Chance's concert. That also reminds me, where was Jagged Edge they advertised for the Raptors game???
Steve Francis is obviously the reason for the crappy halftime shows...He's jealous of whoever coordinates the halftime show and is deliberately sabatoging their work
No, it's Rudy T!!! Rudy is responsible for bad half-time entertainment!!! He purposely gets bad entertainers so that his basketball team looks better by comparison!!! We should fire him . . .
True... "Entertainment" has never been a strong point for Houston. Most of the time it's tacky. We need more original ideas that aren't so embarrassing. And what's with the drums? Did they lose a contract with the RIAA to play MUSIC?
The drum fools have got to go. Makes the whole team feel like highschool ball. I am so tired of the highschool and old women jazzer dancers showing up at halftime, I feel ripped off. Call and complain 713-627-DUNK, Sandra the receptionist is such a sweet lady she will tell you who you need to speak with. I miss the balancing dish woman
U mean, Friday wasnt the first time the "Jazzercise" were there??? Please tell me you were kidding, dear god, please tell me that was the first and ONLY time they were there.
