I'm not sure why anybody has Smith ahead of Aldrich on their depth chart. Aldrich has shown more than Smith in the limited time I've seen him versus the wealth of time I've spent watching Smith.

Keeping Livingston over Cook because of the contract situation just seems like deja vu with the original decision to release Lin (keeping a player for money reasons over bball reasons). Not saying that Livingston will have a breakout performance like Lin did, but I think Livingston brings more to the court than Cook at least (and probably Douglas too).

Hopefully Cook's contract will be used as salary filler to facilitate a trade for a better player. Otherwise all this does is save a couple million dollars of Les's money.

Personally, I like Livingston better from what I saw in the preseason.

But the coaching staff (basketballwise) and the Front Office (financial) has an ultimate say on this matter!

Sad to see Livingston leave.:mad::mad:

    Good luck, Dude!

The Addition of Harden made Livingston expendable. I have no problem with these cuts Machado has a lot of upside and may surprise after a year in the league

Hope Livingston and Forbes catch on somewhere. Forbes can help a lot of teams that are thin at the wings.

+1 Losing Livingston was a mistake. Definitely Livingston>Machado. Livingston played excellent defense in the preseason, way better than Machado, and had just as many great passes. Machado got more assists, but a number were relatively cheap ones. I thought Morey cared about the intangibles/dirty work, like loose balls, rebounds, help defense, team play--Livingston was better in all of those areas

Shocking! :p Someone needs to keep Greg Smith or Royce White company. Which one of those two do you think will be sent?

Do you think we can deduce anything from cutting livingstons contract and getting $7.5 mil under the cap instead of waiving someone else?

I don't like the way people keep saying this kind of thing!!!

We don't really have the right to "send" anyone to the D-League until AFTER they make the team, AND THEN only if they're in their first 2 seasons.

Yes, I realise Machado had a 'funny' contract deal that would've seen him default to the Vipers had we waived him and nobody else signed him - but there's no guarantee nobody would grab him. A 3 year non-guaranteed contract is a pretty sweet thing to grab off waivers isn't it?
