I think it's pretty clear since the long delay since the rumors started the Rockets won't part with him for a mere second rounder and I for one am happy about it

Even though I dont like Drew at all and think he is a disapointment I agree with you we shouldnt just throw him away for some crappy picks. We could use Drew for insurance just in case Mooch goes down, but if keeping Drew takes any of what minutes Moochie has I say lets get a deal done,I love Mooch as the back up behind Steve.

Ren: Drew would only take away minutes from Moochie if he deserves them, and doing so would benefit the team.

I for one think that Drew probably has the potential to be a better PG than Moochie. He has had trouble getting in synch while playing as a sub, true... but he has shown flashes starting, and does have talent.

See, thats just it. Drew is a starter, not a backup like Mooch.

I would not be satisfied with a second-round pick for Bryce Drew. He is better than that and worth more.

I say we trade Drew for whatever ever we can get because this is his last season under contract and its a good chance he will walk.
Just because he was a first round pick dosen't mean you can trade him for a first round pick. I doubt if anyone would trade a frist round pick for Big Clumsy and he was a lottery pick. A second round pick and Cory Benjamin is all Drew is worth lets face it.

I was excited when we drafted Drew but he has been a bust.I thought he was going to be this pure shooter that can shoot the three like Kerr or Hornacek but the guy isnt even that good of a shooter and has problems getting the ball to half court other than that hes going to be great!

I guess Rudy fell in Love with him when he hit the game winning shot against Ole Miss.
He should have fell in love with the guy who made game winning shots for Elsik [IMG]

So, let him walk. Obviously we aren't going to get anything of much worth for him. At least we'll have a decent 3rd string PG for the upcoming season.

If you ask me, I think Bryce Drew is trash. Although he has shown some signs of brilliance it has been few and far between. I was so glad to see Moochie blossom as much as he did in fewer games. I believe he is a better playmaker than Bryce and he also seems more confident and in control. I don't think we will lose much when Steve has to sit down.

It would be nice to get something for Bryce, but who in the right mind would give up anything that is worth something?

Bryce is a good person but he just hasn't lived up to his potential. And as far as him being a starter - for what I team I ask? Charlotte? LA Clippers? Atlanta?

I go one step further and say he is a better PG.

Since the Knicks are desperate for a PG How about we trade him to the Knicks for Pete Michael. If you saw Michael in college you know what kind of player he can become.

I would take Charlie Ward over Bryce any day of the week. If Bryce doesn't hit the game winner for Valpraiso we don't even here about this kid.

Yeah, that Pete Michael guy... who??

    OH!! You mean Pete Mickel???

Why trade Drew for a crappy second round pick? If he walks, he walks. That's still better than a second rounder which we probably won't get much from anyway...

    Oh, you mean Pete Mickeal?

The Rockets have done well with 2nd rounders. I also personally like Mickeal (fabulous defense). If you're giving me a team, and you offer me Drew or Norris, it's Drew hands down. However Drew is more effective, a LOT more effective, with a legit low post threat that he can send it down to, and that can send him kickout passes. Sorry, Kenny Thomas and Carlos Rogers don't count. Hence, the Rockets offense utilizes Moocher better.

And Bryce would have been a first round pick with or without "The Shot" it certainly elevated his stock, but even before, he was a first rounder pretty solidly.

cato13-Both Atlanta and Charlotte have PGs of the future (Jason Terry, and #3 pick Baron Davis, respectively) so that pretty much crosses them off the list.

Lil Francis-Why would the Rockets want another SG, and one that's not proven, and doesn't have great D? To trade him later? Why not keep Drew in that case?

The reason the Rockets haven't traded Drew yet is because Rudy is busy with the Olympics. Look for Drew to be traded early in preseason.

Do we even have room for three point guards in our twelve man line-up? I say a second round pick would be just fine. Rudy has a certain amount of magic working for him in the second round and I would be completely comfortable giving Drew, who will walk otherwise, up for that possibility.

Those of you who would like to see him walk, I have to ask why. I would rather have another shot in the second round than have someone around just in case Moochie or, God forbid, Steve goes down.

Pete Mickeal DOES NOT play the 4 spot. He is 6'5", 230. He played 2 and 3 for Cinci. I am sure he will play 2 and 3 in the NBA.
