Well we know Lin, Harden, Parsons, Patterson, Asik, Jones, and Delfino are in the 12 man rotation. I can see the 8th and 9th spot being filled by Morris and Motiejunas. 10th Spot going to Aldrich to fill the need of a big man. So now we have 1 PG, 2 SG's (Harden, Delfino), 2 SFs (Parsons, Jones), 3 PFs (Patterson, Morris, DMo) and 2 Centers (Asik, Aldrich) Now for more depth we need one more PG and either a SG or Center. We cant play Aldrich a full 20 minutes that Asik won't be playing. And Aldrich really shouldn't be looking at more than 8 minutes a game. I see Greg Smith and Shaun Livingston making the final cut with Cook, Machado, and White at 13-15. Machado and White should be playing some D-League time and Cook can develop his shot over time to push Delfino back up to the SF role.

Overall I think the rotation will look like this:
(If there are parentheses around a players name they are reserves)
    Lin/Livingston/ (Machado)
    Harden/Delfino/ (Cook)
    Parsons/Jones/ (White)
    Patterson/Morris/DMo
    Asik/Smith/Aldrich

Forbes, Brockman, Johnson, Douglas, and Hayward will be cut. Also I think that Morey will make a few last minute tweeks to the line-up. I'm hoping for a trade with the Clippers to land Eric Bledsoe. Then we can release Machado and hope he signs with the Vipers. Allow Livingstons contract to run out and have a PG lline-up of Lin/Bledsoe/Machado. If they develop well enough thats a pretty good 1-2 punch at the PG position and we won't have to worry about Lin getting injured as much as we would now.

    Jeremy Lin
    James Harden
    Chandler Parsons
    Patrick Patterson
    Omer Asik

    Toney Douglas
    Daequan Cook
    Carlos Delfino
    Terrence Jones
    Donatas Montiejunas
    Cole Aldrich
    Marcus Morris
    Royce White (on reserve)
    Shaun Livingston (on reserve)
    Greg Smith (on reserve)

So that leaves Hayward, Machado, Forbes, Brockman, and Johnson as the ones to be cut.

How is thread different then who will get cut? Counting forward instead of backwards is the only difference.

    Lin/Livingston/Douglas
    Harden/Delfino/Douglas
    Parsons/Morris/Delfino
    Patterson/Jones/Smith
    Asik/Aldrich/Smith

    D-League
    White
    Machado
    Motiejunas

One of Cook/Douglas/Machado will be the last one cut. I left Cook out because (a) I haven't really seen him play, and (b) his advanced metrics are pretty poor considering he's been in the league 5 years.

Cook has posted PERs between 7.5 and 12.8 with his value roughly corresponding to his 3P%. Douglas has 2 years of ~15 PER, and 1 terrible year at 7.1 PER.

If you believe Douglas's numbers last year are the result of injury and that he's going to bounce back, I think you keep him over Cook, no question. Nobody will mistake Douglas for a floor general, but he's fine as a 3rd string combo guard.

    Lin
    Harden/Delfino
    Parsons/White/Morris
    Patterson/Jones
    Asik/D-Mo

These 10 are guaranteed their jobs, White will probably see some D-League time though to help find his professional identity. Everyone else to me is up in the air. They only need to keep one PG after Lin and have one in the D-League because Harden can run point if he has to. He did in OKC from time to time. And if White or Morris come out swinging and can handle SF minutes, then sometimes we can go big with:

    Harden
Parsons (Improved 3 Pt thus far)
    Morris/White
    Patterson/Jones
    Asik/D-Mo

Aldrich should make the cut purely on his size and the fact that he's been in the league and isn't a rookie. He could help Asik get some rest if D-Mo needs some RGV time too.

Not really. Who gets cut means who won't be on the team at all, cutting down to 15. But who is the active 12 players still means that we have 3 inactive players who aren't playing but aren't cut either. Its very close, but a little different. But I do see your point in saying this, basically saying did this deserve another thread. Probably not LOL

Agreed about everything except Bledsoe. More important to secure a proven forward. PG is a spot Livingston can cover and hopefully Machado can grow into. Though I do like Bledsoe a lot.
