    Right, the 2013 second rounder from Charlotte, which is a very valuable asset, since it's the #31 pick in the 2013 draft.

    I still think that JuJuan Johnson would be a more valuable trade asset to many teams than Daequan Cook, so maybe Morey is going to work out a buyout with Cook. We'll see what happens.

    If the Aldridge , Cook and Hayward contracts are guaranteed.

    Regarding Paul Millsap vs. Terrence Jones:

    Guys, Millsap is a whole lot better than Jones. Best case scenario, Jones is as good as Millsap in 2-3 years. That's best case scenario.

    After years of reading NBA fan message boards, certain things are constants:

    1) Fans grossly overrate their own players;
    2) Fans assume that all young players on their roster will absolutely positively fulfill the potential that the fans imagine these younger players to have;
    3) Fans ignore the sorts of moves that NBA teams actually make and team-building strategies that NBA teams actually employ.

    Millsap is a lot better than Jones. Morey would much rather have Millsap than Jones. If Morey decides that Millsap is worthy of a near-max contract, then he is going to be willing to trade Jones for Millsap. Most importantly, Houston makes the playoffs if it makes such a trade for Millsap, and doesn't make the playoffs if it goes with a starting frontcourt of Patrick Patterson-Omer Asik. The goal is to win games, sooner rather than later. Millsap is a proven commodity; Jones was a non-lottery pick four months ago.

    We just used that very valuable asset to land us James Harden. OKC wanted 3 first rounders, we said no and gave them 2 firsts and that 2nd rounder instead...

    Even still he was a top 10 pick in every fantasy draft I took part in. The production don't lie.

    The thing is would you rather pay Milsap near max money or have Jones potentially produce just as much at a fraction of the cost. Milsap is clearly better at this point but the money he will demand is not worth it. I'm not saying Jones will be as good but he may possibly grow into a role similar.

    2 2nd rounders. One of which was used to bring in James Harden.
