The Rockets are never going to win another Championship as long as Les is the owner and Morey is the GM. All this trade does is kill our draft position. Kill it. Short term thinkers will love the trade, because it helps us win games now, but Harden is not a guy you can build a Championship around, and giving him the max smacks of desperation.

You forget that the Rockets will have enough cap space to sign ANOTHER max contract player at the end of this season.

The flexibility to add ANOTHER Elite player in addition to Harden/Lin/Asik is nothing to sneeze at...

All of you dudes are dreaming. Who will they sign? Harden isn't a max player anyway. He fit perfect with OKC but he isn't a star. This move was just for the Rockets to sell tickets. All this did was made us mediocre for another 4 or 5 years.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but we only have 3 players from last year's team still here. That's gotta be the biggest turnover since maybe the transition from the Francis/Yao era to T-Mac/Yao era.

He is a star by today's standard but not a perennial all star, superstar.
He has to prove himself once again and that is far from being a WC contender.

6th, 7th or 8th place it is again

He probably won't like leaving a college atmosphere to a half empty Toyota Center.

One less date with the ladies per month then you can afford CSN Houston.

Not the biggest fan of this trade because of what has already been stated. Harden is not a max type player but he is going to command it to resign here. I would have been happier to let our young guys develop and just get new picks through the draft over time rather than just try to bring in players to sell tickets and not really give us anything great.

Trading for an up and coming 23 yr old talented SG is making the rockets mediocre...? Not to mention Rockets have the cap space to add another max level player in the next offseason. So you'd rather keep Kevin Martin or maybe you had high hopes for Jeremy Lamb?? Chances are, Lamb is unproven and Harden is a proven talent who is only 23 years old...

Not sure how folks can be against this trade, like...what was your alternative??

The great irony in this post is that Harden is younger than half of our "young guys".

This is an awesome trade, but let's wait and see how James Harden handles no longer being the best player on his team first.
