Would have been a huge pickup for ESPN

Woj is the most informed, Bucher is mediocre.

Only problem: Woj has a deep hatred for ESPN. I'm not surprised at all that they went for him -- he's by far the best NBA insider these days -- but they would have to pay him a fortune to overcome that.

Bucher was so annoying. He was skip bayless without the personality

Good thing we still have Chris Broussard and his sources.

Wojnarowski is the only reason Yahoo! NBA is getting any hits imo.

I'm glad he didn't go to ESPN, but I hope he gets compensated correctly for doing such a good job.

The guy writes what he knows, and he really knows the insides of the NBA. His interesting writing style doesn't hurt either.

I like Wojnarowski's inside information, which is always reliable. I don't like his opinion pieces, which are one sided, ridiculously biased, and over the top hatchet jobs.

Woj is a G. Did bucher get canned or he left on his own terms?

Thank you lord. Bucher lost ALL of his credibility when he proclaimed on national TV that he would quit as a journalist of Kobe ever wear a Laker jersey ever again.

Woj would have been a nice pickup.

Anyways, weird question: who's the highest paid sports journalist out there?

Does Bill Simmons count as a sports journalist?

Woj is one of the few people with actual reliable insider sources. Love his twitter.

Absolutely, I was thinking the same thing. I would be shocked if Woj left Yahoo. He's pretty much made it known that ESPN disgusts him.

I'd hate to see Woj conform, he has real news, real stories. ESPN regurgitates everything, same stories on different shows, gets old.

When I hear Ric Bucher's name, I think about Dwight Howard trade rumors.

I second this opinion. "Over the top hatchet job" is an apt description of his opinion pieces. Straight from the Charley Rosen school of 'journalism', although Rosen hated everyone except Phil Jackson while Woj clearly loves all things Kobe.

What are the big places for sports journalists to go besides ESPN?

I actually think ESPN the Mag is pretty good, unlike the network or website.
