if rudy t. cannot control his players like what you said, if francis does not listen to him even if they practice the play or instructed him, then he needs to step down. like i said, we need someone from "old-school" who can be in these players face night in and night out to make the right decision according to game plan. if they do not want to do it, ship them out. trade them. i do not care if he is the franchise. if he is not a team-player, they might as well get someone like gary payton. i know that this guy is old but at this point in his career, he is playing more for the championship rather than personal accomplishment. anyway, i do think that he still have at least three more good playing years.

    re: chicagotribune.com

"I was thinking of throwing one off the backboard and going up and then turning around and trying to dunk it backward," Steve Francis said. "But my coach would have been messed up with that."

[ Is this is good sign that Francis "listens" to Rudy (?). ]

"We didn't get the ball inside (to Yao) and the Bulls took over," Francis acknowledged.

    [ :) ]

"It's kind of over for me with Chicago," Francis said. "If they traded Elton Brand, maybe there wasn't a place for me here either. They traded a guy who was more consistent than any of the four frontcourt guys they have now. They might have traded me to Vancouver again. You never know what they have up their sleeve here."

[ Heh heh...guess he doesn't trust the Krauss. Who would? ]

"He's not the classic point guard," Tomjanovich conceded. "But look at the guys out there?Stephon Marbury, Gary Payton. Isiah Thomas was a scorer too. There's only a few of those classic point guards."

[ Scoring point guard vs a classic point guard? Uh, I don't care what Francis becomes, as long as he keeps the turnovers down! ]

"When people constantly say you hit a wall, that's when you start thinking about it," Francis said. "I don't believe in that. Everybody says, 'Just one interview,' and that snowballs. He's not used to it. If it was me, I'd take the fine. There's a lot of anticipation in seeing what type of player he'll be. He's a good player."

[ If Yao hasn't hit a wall, then why all this talk from Rudy that Yao is tired. He can't keep using this excuse all year long. And he better not utter that word next year! ]

Comments from the commentators at the Bulls Game

I watched the game on Sunday when the Rox played at United Center.

I never really believed in the offensive sequence that Rudy has used (guards penetration entirely) and it realy showed how ugly it could get on Sunday, even against the Bulls.

Even the commentators at the Bulls game couldn't help but mentioned not once, not twice but many times why the Rox wouldn't give the big man more touches ????? Or run offense thru him??
They questioned why the Rox would use Mobley to post up on the right side and total isolation ??? And when the guard put up shots, the big men were in no place to even attempt for rebound .....

    This goes on and on.....

I have to agree The Rox offense is not fluid, one dimensional. Yao was efficient on Sunday, especially in the 4th, why wouldn't they use him more in the third when they struggled on offense?? MOst of the time when someone put up a shot, Yao was still in the high post, running in to try to get position for rebound ..... TOOOO LATE.

    your comments ??

    Hrocket,

Getting Payton would do wonders for this team but it's not going to happen so I don't even want to think about it. On the Rudy front, I will concede that Rudy is not a Pat Riley, George Karl, type motivator. But it doesn't seem you can treat players like that in this league anymore. It just doesn't seem to be effective. It's why brilliant college coaches come in this league and fail. And it's why Karl and Riley aren't having the successes they used too. So by your standard Rudy should just say to Francis it's my way or the Highway. Either you start getting the ball into Yao or ride the pine and I'll start Tito... Yeah that's going to be effective...

The thing is at this level you are supposed to be motivated already and Steve is to some degree... I don't want to make it seem like he is all bad... It's just that sometimes he is more about himself than the team and yes he wants us to win but it seems he wants to be the star that leads us to victory and hates it when someone else is doing that... I recorded a game where Yao scored a basket off a Stevie miss that won us the game and everyone was cheering but Steve was on the ground looking pissed and annoyed that he wasn't the Star and Yao was taking his fame.

So yes Stevie wants to win and he will sacrifice his body to do so but he doesn't want to sacrifice his fame to do so and thats a problem and I don't know any amount of coaching that can change that. Still I will agree the Rockets could definitely use a little more in your face type coaching and that is not Rudy's style. So I guess will just have to hope that Steve gets it on his own soon.
