Both candidates accomplished what they set out to do. Romney came off as the moderate, which helped his cause with undecided voters and women. Obama was aggressive, and as I can tell by this thread, invigorated his base. We'll see how the polls move over the next few days.
yeah, Romney definitely retreated to the center in this debate. He changed his former position on the deadline for Afghanistan etc. Romney(like Ryan) basically agreed with Obama on Afghanistan, The uprising in Egypt, Iran, Syria, and what seemed like every Obama administration foreign policy position.
I guess Obama won this debate from reading a few posts here, but more indicatively, my FB page isnt blowing up with my Mormon classmates talking trash and gloating about Romney. After the 1st debate, the Mormons trashed talked. After the 2nd, they were upset, and after today, not single post LOL.
Bad News for the Romney Campaign. People have looked up his stance on the auto bailout. Those people have seen that Romney was dishonest about it, and he was talking out his ass on that issue.
MItt Romney's debate history = Austin Powers movies. The first one was "hey that's different." The second was "eeeee, tired of this." The third was "just stop."
Hilarious how the Obama supporters admit that their guy was beaten soundly in the first debate, and how for this 3rd debate, clearly a win for Obama, the best the Romney supporters can come up with is drivel like "flailing about..." OBAMA PARA EL GANAR!!!
This is why it's difficult to tolerate Repugs. You won't even admit your candidate sucked during the debate. Romney's gone from Severely Conservative in the Repug primaries to Moderate Mitt in the 1st debate to Milquetoast Mitt in this debate.
Romney has been busy handing out hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonuses to his campaign leadership. After tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for it back. It was weird. Romney started out OK, but as the debate went on, you could tell that he lost his way, repeating what Obama had said in response to President Obama. How strange was that? Contradicting himself, over and over again. Obama attacked Romney on his foreign policy record, which consists largely of Romney's own statements, considering how little foreign policy expertise the governor has, and Romney seemed helpless in response. Obama finally hammered Romney as he deserved to be hammered for twisting the truth into an unrecognizable pretzel of distortions and outright lies. Thank goodness. I was beginning to wonder if Obama would ever take down Governor Romney for distorting Romney's own record as governor, and his statements and speeches during the campaign, as well as the President's record. What's funny is that I was concerned about the President's performance in this debate before it started. So much was riding on its outcome. I shouldn't have worried. President Obama just killed Romney tonight. It's no coincidence, apparently, that roadkill and Romney both start with an R.
Yahoo has a poll going with presently over 150,000 respondents: Romney 52% Obama 48%. My take is that the third debate like the second was largely a draw. Romney pursued a surprising strategy of essentially being agreeable and let Obama bring the heat. Look, I voted today, and most people have made up their mind. The NLCS final game and Monday Night Football drew many viewers. Basically, I don't think this one made much difference.
Well Deckard, to be fair to Romney, there is almost no chance that a challenger can beat a sitting presidency on foreign affairs. The knowledge is just not there. Romney won't get my vote because he has proven to be the ultimate flip-flopper. Worse than a fish out of water.
Crazy. Normally, Glen Beck has zero credibility for anything other than alcohol-induced conspiracy theories and domestic violence, but when he doesn't support an unqualified candidate who is the last of a dying breed, it suggests something.... Glenn/Rush/BillO/Hannity are the republican base, so they must recognize Mitt's downward spiral. The puppets watching Fox News may have difficulty sleeping tonight...
