Alot of finger pointing. But i dont see how Darden could be so evil for protecting their profits and wanting to run a business that makes money rather than lose it. But because med students work so hard the insinuation that they get paid to much is offensive. especially since this whole ACA mess is because HC cost are too high. it just seems really hypocritical. Doctors get paid to much and med school cost too much. If we had twice as many doctors and paid them half as much as we do now. Healthcare would become a whole lot more affordable and then companies could actually afford to give it as a benefit. And maybe instead of scaling back, they would hire more people. but u rather any business with more than 49 employees pick up the slack and fix the affordability problem rather than the people in the who actually work in the healthcare industry. riiiiight. people wont go for that. keep spewing that hate for the rich though, what goes around comes back around.

It's a future event. This was "to be" the company's pre-emptive action as determined by their financial guys. And I think the $1500/EE was just an estimate to cover the new mandates under ACA; there would of course be the usual rate increases as well.
Or, it was a random guy on talk radio making up stuff. There are about 50-60 employers in the US that have 100,000+ employees, and all are public corporations. A potential layoff of 30% of its staff would be a material event and would not be disclosed through talk radio. You'd have all sorts of potential SEC and regulatory problems there.
