Which ones did you like? Dislike? So far, I thought the Bud commercials with the Assclown and the DOg Hair where pretty good. The FedEx "Castaway" commercial was also good.
Matrix Reloaded = ohmygod! Yeah, Agent Smith!! Hulk = ok... I guess. (Connelly is damn hot, though.) The Ozzy Osbourne Pepsi commercial has been the best one... yet. Matrix is #2.
My favorite has got to be the horses and replay commercial. Willie Nelson/H&R Block was sweet too. assclown was ok, Castaway was funny. Yao Ming commercial was awful. As were the Sierra Mist followups and the damn Osbournes.
Man, these have been some of the lamer commercials. I liked the zerbra official for the horse football game... "That ref's a jackass." "Actually, he's a zerbra." Funny. That Matrix commercial was silly. If I were another movie studio, I'd just plan on NOT releasing anything those two weekends.
Did anyone see an ad for a tennis tournament (I know it's a big thing but I don't watch tennis) at Westside? The voice over was done by Mattress Mac Nice job by Mac on getting Houston some pub during the Super Bowl. I don't know if it was a national or local ad...this was in Austin.
That was during the first quarter and it was national. It was short - 15 seconds - but it still probably cost him a cool million.
That last commercial with the young girl who got pregnant supposedly because her judgement was impaired by mar1juana was absolutely pathetic. More appropriate would have been to talk about lost inhibitions and the use of alcohol in teens. But, I doubt they'd do that given the fact that there have been more freakin' beer and alcohol ads during this game than anything else.
Great not only does smoking marijana lead to terrorism and rape but it also leads to teen preganacy. The matirx movie looks awesome and the yao commercial was also good too. The castaway one was also clever.
Terry Tate commercial was hands down the best! Even an "Office Space" reference! Pure genius! Too bad I won't remember that it was advertising Reebok in about 10 minutes, seeing as how the actual product got very little pub in the commercial! Self-defeating perhaps?
SLAM! "How many times do I need to tell you that you need a cover sheet on your TPS report...Hi Janice!"
I've seen that several times over the past week, so I don't count it as an official "Super Bowl commercial" But yeah, it's done well. There was an article on ESPN Page 2 last week describing all the work that went into filming it. A must read if you liked the commercial.
