I love these guys to death, but let's face it, they can't co-exist much longer...there is simply too much similarity to their games for them to be an effective backcourt... which one stays, and which one goes?
How about if Cuttino goes back to his old role sixth man, but then we would need a pg. Trade Cuttino then
No way we trade the Franchise. In a situation where you have 2 of the exact same player it's a no-brainer that the less talented one should go.
If we had to trade either, I'd go with Francis. Money-wise, Cuttino is the better value, and of course, we'd get a lot more in return for Francis.
OH!! YOU MEAN . . .watch Francis Mop and Demand a Trade? So we will have NO BACKCOURT??? Yea. . . I thought that is what you meant Rocket River Moving Steve to the 2 . . is basically saying. . .Trade him! He WANTS to be a 1. . . . It seems to clear to me . .. that his position is 1 or TRADE ME!
PG of course. He averages 17 pts and over 7 assists per game. The only problem is he is 6'1 and Francis would be a 6'3 SG making our backcourt very small. If Francis would b**** about going to SG then we should trade him over Mobley.
Jason Terry is not a true PG. He's a SG forced to play the PG on a team with talent but no chemistry. Fans are clamoring for the underachieving bunch to be traded. Sounds familiar?
Despite his assist numbers, Terry isn't the right type of guard next to Steve, either. Atlanta doesn't seem think he can play PG, that's why there have been trade rumors surrounding him, and why Wilks has been starting. A-Train: That's basically the same conclusion I've come to. It has nothing to do with selfishness, or ego, it has to do with their games. Cat's 8 second violation today was the guards in a nutshell-none of them are heady players, and it's the position where you need the decision making skills. RRiver- Francis is smarter than that. He's already under contract long term- he has his money, and the Rockets have control of the situation. Remember all the bad pub. Francis got over the Vancouver debacle? He knows he'd lose all his popularity if he pulled a stunt like that, and if it's a move that helps the Rockets, well, winning cures all. This is just a sad statistic: Over his last 5 games (the 4 game losing skid, plus the huge Laker win), Francis has 26 Assists and 26 turnovers, for an AST/TO ratio of exactly 1.00. Can anyone find a starting PG with a 5 game stretch of an AST/TO ratio of 1 or below?
If you could manage a trade that brought back another All-Star---and I mean, a really talented one---then I'd say Francis should go. But Cat is the easiest to move.
OVERREACTION. A-Train, I'm glad you weren't the Rockets' GM in, say, 1990, 'cuz Akeem would've been sent packing. I think Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars also had pretty similar games. Akeem and Ralph had similar games. What's wrong with having 'similar games'? The problem is IMPATIENCE of fans. That's the problem. Chicago has just as much talent as the Rockets. The Rockets just aren't as good as people around here think they are.
Cat would be easier to contain in term of damage control with a good true point guard and coaching staffs. At least his defense is better than that of Steve. Steve's defense and TOs really hurt. Worse than both categories are his selfishness, decision-making, inability to see the floor, and ego. My vote goes to Steve.
Why would you deal MObley for Terry. They are virtually the same player , except Mobley is a little better.
