.......when the heart of the fetus stops beating as a result of an act committed by another human being for the specific purpose of making the fetus' heart stop beating.
Is eating an omelet made with fertilzed eggs the same thing as a chicken dinner? Is crushing acorns the same thing as clear cutting a forest?
Acorns are fertilized? I don't really get the first one at all. If I'm willing to eat a chicken, why would I value the life of the fertilized egg any differently. They are both protein for me.
This is an absolutely ridiculous post. Conception begins when the sperm fertilizes the egg. There is no doubt about that. Eggs and sperm do not create life until they come together and thus conception. Now does life begin at conception???? That is the question. I believe it does. You may differ. If the pregnancy is not terminated by abortion or miscarriage then the result is a child. I believe that anytime a sperm fertilizes an egg, that creation has as much right to life as you or me.
Can any females here attest to this? Are transvaginal ultrasounds the norm for the ultra sound all mothers generally get the first month of pregnancy? A mom told me that today.
My wife had at least six ultrasounds through her two pregnancies and none was transvaginal. And, generally, the first ultrasound is performed at about 8 weeks.
Hmm, I had a female cousin (who is incredibllllyyy liberal) tell me it was actually standard procedure and the only way to get an ultra sound that early.
If it means what I think it means. Where they put that prod thing in her vagina instead of just putting the jelly on her abdomen and running that thing on top of her. Early in the pregancy it is the only way. GladiatoRowdy, your experience was quite different than mine. We definitely had one at 6 weeks, and then I think we had one at 8 weeks (they tried the other first at 8 weeks, IIRC, but weren't having any luck so they went with the other).
Ya, I was pretty sure that was correct. As for the 8 week thing, I can imagine that varries on the mother. For instance, my sister in law lost 2 pregnancies, so she goes like every two weeks to the doctor when she is pregnant.
We went every 2 weeks for a while. Other times were weekly, and I think in the middle it would be 4 weeks, but been 3 years now. Hard to remember every detail.
