Lin is already generating more buzz and revenue for the Rockets. The only way you would miss it is if you are living under a rock and have zero access to the internet. with that being said...i didn't say it would last...but so far the rockets have been able to sellout a few pre-season games and i imagine attendance in the short-term is going to spike. lin has generated a tremendous amount of buzz for the rockets going into the season, but it remains to be see whether or not it will last in the long run. i know for a fact that the rockets have generated a serious amount of buzz overseas, because i've traveled over to Taiwan/China and there is definitely renewed interest in the ball club that has been missing since the retirement of Yao.
Check out below recent article on JLin: http://www.jeremylin.net/2012/10/rockets-mavs-preseason-game-4-thread.html#comment-form At least the guy is honest. He says he's a work in progress -- hard to argue with that. But look, it does seem like he will give his all to prove his critics wrong.
I don't have an example but I think your statement is too damn bold. It's more likely that a player did great in a couple of preseason games, landed a fat contract and turned out to be below average, AKA, Kevin Cato.
Lin was trying to build the chemistry with his teammates and getting used to the NBA level games. There is no need to try too hard The 1st 2 games were good without 2 new rookies.
Well it's obvious that you are a Jeremy Lin fan and are probably here because of "JLin." Sorry but he just hasn't proved himself enough to earn a nickname. And your high expectations of 14 ppg, 9 apg, 2 steals is wayyyy out there my man. You are dreaming. I'm not saying Lin sucks but there is nothing special about him. He had a great run when he played for the Knicks but that is not enough to prove himself as a consistent point guard in the NBA. Lin fans need to take a breather and stop flooding ClutchFans with their babble.
Why not let them? It's not like we have a lot of superstars on our team to talk about. My take on Lin is that he will get his chance to show his true worth. I don't know what his ceiling is but I honestly don't see him as the future cornerstone of this franchise.
Hilarious. Its even worse in LA where the Lakers have lost every pre-season game. The Lin-haters are carebears compared to the crazy-talk happening in Southern California. It is preseason. People talk like they've never played a sport before. If you've never played a sport, at least pick up bowling or softball, or join a community basketball league at your local gym. Back to sipping on my kool-aid.
Sorry, I forgot the sarcasm emoticon. I assumed it would be obvious. It's preseason and he's still rehabbing from his injury. Lin will be fine.
How about another option? WAY TOO EARLY... Jebus guys, give the kid a chance to pan out or flop before you anoint him or chuck him in the dungeon. I can't remember the last time I saw a player come off a rookie/sophomore season where so many people were in line to crown/crucify them... Pre-season. Breathe.... pre-season...
Welcome to CF.net, where every game has to be taken death serious and ends in p!ssing threads about the players that failed and "HE SHOULD START" or "is he the next xy" threads about the players that a good night. You think it will change...naaaaaaaaaah.
