You know I really like the way the Rockets have decided to see what we have before looking for change.

We started last season with rookies, players from other teams that had been mostly on the bench. After the first few weeks of the season I feared it was going to be a long time before we returned to the play-offs, much less the championship. Then the season wore on and the players started learning where the other would be when they passed. Where a player wanted the ball delivered so he was ready to shot or drive. Now it would have been nice if the players would have been able to learn each other and still improve on their defense and free throws and the other things. That might have been requiring a little to much all at once. But by the last two-three weeks the players started to learn each other the kids started to win, and even beat the "big boys". Well we have only changed one main player, picked up two that will in time be good bench players[or better].

Now we see if this talk of working in the off season for defense and to report in shape is true. If so, and I believe it, then we will not only have a team with talent, but one that likes playing togather and is willing to get better to help the team. I don't think all the working out was just for themselves or the team in general. I think the chemistry is good enough that the players don't want to disappoint the other players. "peer pressure"

The peer pressure in addition to Rudy is why I think we will see Mo have the best year in his career[pro, college, high school]. If Cato returns to the player he was at Iowa State for two years he will be headed to being the best defensive center in the NBA. These things may not happen, but we have came this far so lets give them the chance.

    Bravo!

It would be nice for a change to actually stick with a lineup from one year to the next. Every since 95 we have made major changes from year to year. Last year was the most drastic of all with the legends going down and the youth movement being started a year ahead of time.

We made tremendous progress last season and there is no reason to think that we won't continue that trend.

I agree 100%. My only beef is that the Rockets need to add a certain type of player (which I've more than enough covered in my own thread). Otherwise, trading any of our "stars" or "role players" would be very stupid at this point, especially since all our players seem to like one another. That is priceless and should not be tampered with.

I agree also. My pork chops is that the rockets need another small forward that is tall and has good offensive/defensive skills.

Why bother ? According to NugzFan, we suck [IMG]. Just kidding. I'm not sure how far this team will go, but I can guarantee it will be exciting.

    AMEN!!!

I have been reading all summer about "who we gonna get", "who we need to dump", who's better then whom". BORING

Put a team on the floor and lets rock!

As mentioned, if everyone is on the same page and comes to ball, then this will be a fun team to watch.

And it’s going to be bittersweet to watch the swansong of the greatest center of all time!

Yeah we need to watch and see what happens with this nucleus of players. One season wasn't enough of a grading period. Will Cuttino show he can start? Shandon, where do you play him(SG/SF)? Is Maurice the answer in the post? Will Walt start? What can the Dream give this season? Is Cato going to be the center of the future? These are some questions that will be answered just in the first part of the season. I think Brcye will still be here when the season starts. Unless some teams needs a point badly. I really wouldn't trade him for another draft pick. If we can't get a solid player at a position that will benefit us then I'd rather wait and see what happens during the season. A lot of playoff teams may need a good backup. And if we don't trade him, I have no problem letting him go after the season with out compensation. IMHO.
