Just felt so bad when my friends and I sat in that court tonight.

    Yao, shame on you.

Do not show in the all star weekend. That will make you so
"special", you have not reached that level.

You need practising, not commercials. Without improving your
ball skills, there won't be any commercials for you in the
future. You will be forgotten very soon.

I have to agree... Ball first, commercial & video games second. Do I sound like his mother? :D :D :D

The guy has hit the wall so hard it hurts. He needs to rest. Maybe he should sit out for 10 days.

I wonder how many player were allstars in the rookie year, then were never an allstar again.

Yao is on pace to do it.

Yao's just hit the wall... plain and simple.

It happens to all rookies, and it will be of much bigger magnitude for Yao b/c he hasnt had a good rest in 2 years.

Let me tell you what I think, I am proud of Yao's first all star.
He may be at his up or his down, lost or won. If he tried his
best, there is no reason to feel shame for him.

I think he's homesick. People are expecting so much out of him, and it isn't working out at the present time, and he may be feeling like he's letting everyone down-bummed. Maybe he's not comfortable, or pleased with his role on this team, and the frustration is overwhelming him. Who knows? Whatever it is, he knows about it. Lay off him. He's trying, and giving it effort. He's a rookie, let him grow.
Above all, no matter what the situation(s) is, he needs support to keep his spirits up. All this bashing will serve no purpose at all. Why should we have to depend on a rookie to even be close in ball games? We shouldn't.
Yao didn't come here to get onto the Allstar team, he didn't come here to go for Rookie of the Year, he didn't come here to be Superman, and he for sure isn't gloating about all the media attention, all the hype, all the camera's, interviews, etc-he doesn't really enjoy it, and I'm sure it makes him uncomfortable.
He'd probably be doing better if people would just let him be.
Yao Ming is here to challenge himself as a basketball player, to better his life, to experience a lifestyle that isn't available to just anybody...in China, or anywhere for that matter.
Yao Ming is a nice young man from a very different culture, who wants to play basketball-a game.
His life is more than a game, though. Let the guy adjust. Sheesh.

    GO YAO!

    wlqq, shame on you!

Yao Ming didn't shoot commercials everyday. Do you think that his bad performance is really related to shooting the Apple and Visa commercials. I don't think so. He is a rookie, and he has contributed a lot to Rox's success this year. Without Yao, Rox would still be a lottery team. Also, Yao didn't skip practice to shoot the commercials, right? He has his right to manage HIS OWN FREE TIME. Yao may hit the rookie wall, he may be very tired ... As a Rox fan, I will always give him my understanding and support. I know what he is capable to do, and I'm sure he will use his great performance to make my understanding worthwhile.

    wlqq, shame on you!!!

It is time for Yao to take a break. The Rockets should do the same thing that Chicago did with Jay Williams. We should put Yao on the IL and rest him for five games. This team is not winning with Yao playing like craps.

The ignorance in that statement is overwhelming. The last thing Yao needs is more practice. He needs rest, desperately.

He has already shown that he has the skills, he just needs to rest up, get healthy, and then work on his strength and toughness.

Lastly, the last thing this board needs is Yao bashing- there's enough Steve, Cat, Rudy, MoT, EddieG and Moochie bashing as is.

Geez, all this bashing, its like we really suck or something.

    GAKF,

The point is: Yao's current performance is still possible to
make Rockets a lottery team, if he doesn't improve.

Thank you for your pathetic support for him without looking
at the fact. Shame on you more!

This might be the first Yao bashing thread in this BBS.
Yeah, why don't we trade him to golden state or lakers?

Shame on you. Blaming a rookie for a defeat.

And he didn't skip practice to do commercials you know. Or you demand him to practice 24 hours a day 7 days a week?

Yao Ming is the real deal. He is already a very good player and he will be a great player for many years to come. Right now he is just dead tired as anyone can see.

I don't understand how so many people can be bashing Yao. That man is completely drained and yet he is still giving it his all. I would sit him out for a few weeks to see if that helps things.

But trust me, he has the right stuff to succeed. He is the man.

    wlqq, still, shame on you!

I clearly know Rox has won 10 more games right now compared with last year's Rox at this time. This is the fact! Why? A major factor is that Rox got Yao Ming this year.

I agree that Yao Ming didn't play very well in the past several games. That's why I would give him my understanding and support.

wlqq, shame on you. You are not a true fan. Actually, you are not a true human being!
