"You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season."

He is the key to doing anything in the playoffs.

I hope he is ok, and can give us a good solid 24-30 minutes a night.

Looking towards the playoffs already. Very optimistic Dakota... I do however agree with you the playoffs are where the teams that have a strong post up game seem to flourish... That's why Houston has always managed to do well in the playoffs in spite of their not always so great regular season records. It's the same reason Seatle hasn't faired so well in the playoffs in spite of thier strong regular season... In addition Hakeem has always been at his best during playoff time . It's when he dominates the most. I think he thrives under pressure when others can't... So I to want him around then... and I am not so concerned if he puts up great numbers in the regular season as long as he stays healthy and conditioned, then come playoff time watch out for the Rockets and Dream in his Final Dance... Go Rockets!!!

Anyone who can shoot the ball as good as Hakeem can, is welcom on my Rockets no matter how old he is....

I wouldn't worry about Dream. He knows what it takes to grind it out every night in the NBA. He has too much pride to go out on a sour note.

If Hakeem still has the will to win...he will.

Ah, Pimp, there is the ugly question.

Will to play. I have not seen it lately, but is it a product of his health or simply a lack of desire.

I am hoping for a healthy, motivated dream season.

    No.

Hakeem always starts slow. This year will be no exception.

Don't all go jumping on the "Hakeem's past it-he should retire" bandwagon at the end of November. Give him time.

With the sweet 15-18 footer jump shot developed in the last few years, dream is going to....okay, I'm going to come right out and say it.

Dream is going to average 18 to 20 a game.

Steve is going to feed him on the key all season.

    Just you watch

Dream is going to make us all smile this year. Its going to be bittersweeet to watch.

I feel proud that my 500th post was talking about the best center of all time.

I hope he has a productive season but you're right it has been eerily silent about his health.

This is NOT intended as Dream-bashing..he's one of the 50 Greatest and deservedly so....

But if Dream shoots 45.8% from the field again this year like last, he'll need 19 or 20 shots/game to average 18 ppg.

If he played in *only* 60 games, he'd take more shots than Steve did last season...

Reality is about 12 ppg, 6.5 boards & 2 blocks. There are currently way more questions than answers about Dreams' health!

Darn, Hakeem's not going to make it to the free-throw line at all this year [IMG]

Still, depending on his health and with the addition of Mo's extra scoring, I'd mostly agree with your assessment of his stats. I figure, he'll take 9-10 shot attempts per game and get to the line a couple of times. He'll probably get more rebounds than you estimated though (maybe 7.5-8 depending on his mpg).

With limited minutes (15-20 per), he might last the entire season.

I think it is a bad sign. I think if he was OK then it would be more publicized. Seems like Dream in hiding in the off-season which I don't see as a good sign.
I hope I'm wrong but I think in this case that No News is Bad News.
