How will the rockets counter Portland if they play Wallace at the 3?

I don't think WW on him would work too well and WW wouldn't be able to exploit him.

If they play Sheed at the 3 spot they will have to run the seldom used 3in 2 out offense, also we could fairly easily play a zone if they have sablownees, Davis and Sheed on the floor together.

Dunleavy loves his big guards but my guess is Wells will see more time on the floor this year with pip as point forward.

Lets think first about making the playoffs, then we will care about how we are suppose to stop rasheed at the 3. If portland went with this lineup, then we go with this.

    DAVIS
    KEMP
    WALLACE
    WELLS
    PIP

    CATO
    KENNY
    TAYLOR
    MOBLEY
    FRANCIS

    Francis 3,

I think that we get spanked with that line-up. I'd put Shandon Anderson on Bonzi Wells because Bonzi likes to post opponents up...can't think of anything else to say that's not purely argumentative because of my igonorance.

Don't anybody ever suggest again that we sign Tracy Murray to a deal.

Real question is, who starts at the 4. They have 3 more than cabable players that would start for like 95% of the league. I know they were stacking the big men up for Shaq but I would think they would want to be used for more than just their fouls.

my guess is Sablownees will see a big drop off in his minutes and Fatty Kemp will start at 5 with sheed at 4 and Davis subbing for either of them, if it doesn't work watch for the monster trade of Davis and Stoudamire for a super PG.

Would it make sense at all to go with:

    Hakeem
    Cato
    Taylor
    Shandon
    Stevie

with Kenny and Collier (if he pans out) coming in to relieve Dream and Kelvin?

los has the size and atleticism to guard sheed and it wouldn't take away from the front court bulk of taylor and cato,so heres how id matchup with that lineup

    kempbonis-cato
    davis-taylor
sheed-rogers...still a tough matchup for los but i think hes as good as anyone we have

    SSG,

I forgot about Los. He would be the obvious choice at the three.

    Francis3,

I wasn't saying we would play Portland in the playoffs. I have a friend from Portland and he proposed to me what we would do against them during the regular season.

Rasheed is foul prone. Start Dan and attack Rasheed instead of worrying about defending him. Dan can put it on the floor and at 6'11" can still get a shot off over him if he backs off. I think Dan has better range and more mobility than Los, but either one should be able to cause some match up problems for Rasheed at the 3.
