Oh no...how could a team sack their coach just because their crap, their not improving, no one is watching them and they have no idea...

How could they do it when there's a 20% chance they might get to draft an 18 year old kid to save the day...

    Gee...and now he's unhappy.

Before he's even arrived, this kid is already on my most disliked players list if crap like this is true...

I don't give much credit to this anonymous source. James may try to get out of playing for the Cavs, but I doubt it would be because he holds some grudge over the Lucas thing. He could sit out a year and re-enter the draft, but he'd risk losing out on millions due to some fluke injury and he'd risk getting drafted by some equally undesireable team in the next year.

As highly regarded as Lebron is in the league, I sometimes wonder if the top pick might be worth more in trade anyway. You hear of teams saying there is only a handful of players they wouldn't trade for the chance at James...I imagine he would command a king's ransom if he asked to be traded.

Why would he want to play for the Cavs to begin with? Lucas isn't a good coach anyways.

I don't know about sitting out a year... A certain mother does have to make payments on a certain outlandish luxury sports utility vehicle!

James has sealed his own fate.

Whos to say the Cavs get the #1 pick anyways ? Its called the lottery for a reason, the same reason the Knicks didn't get the #1 pick last year.

The Knicks didn't win the lottery because everyone would've called it a fix, much the same way it was called a fix in 1985 with the whole frozen envelope thing. :D

Just b/c he sits out a year, does not mean he can't sign endorsement deals (does it?). I think I heard somewhere that after this season is over, he'll be making huge $$$'s even before he gets drafted. The ego on this kid will be unbearable.

is the kid allowed to have an opinion?

I mean Lucas did alot for the kid. . . is it so sad that the kid
grew fond of him and could be dismayed by his misfortune
    Sheesh!!

Agreed. And by the time of the draft, the hype this kid is going to get is going to swell his head so big we're gonna be confusing him with Jason Kidd's baby.

I'm not sure if he's gonna be a bust, but I sure as hell hope he is. He's just a damn HS kid, he needs to be humbled.

Hey, if Franchise managed okay after the Grizz debacle, LeBron should be just fine. It'll blow over.

Lebron has serious attitude problems, I hope after one season he averages something like 2.3 points a game for some horrible team, and is then traded to the Lakers, where he does even worse before having a career ending injury...OK that is really mean, but hey the kids head is too big.

Cleveland is in a real mess IF this holds up. They've had terrible drafts and this was supposed to be the cant miss propsect. Add to that that he is a hometown boy and would instantly fill the seats. He is basically supposed to save the Franchise. Kobe said out of H.S only Chicago L.A. or NY. Lebron is just saying anybody but cleveland" . I dont remember people getting upset when Kobe said he wouldnt play for 85% of the league. To me its no big deal if ESPN didnt hype this kid up so much stuff like this would never come to our attention. Lebron is in the news everyday cant he just enjoy his senior year? A guy who the media watches his every move is entitled to voice his displeasure. "Stevie Franchise" did almost exact same thing nobody wished he would become a bust. Why? Cuz he became a rocket. dont hate on King James just b/c he will most likely not be a rocket. Dosent matter I bet Lebron takes back this alledged statement come draft day.

I wouldn't call "never play for the Cavs after this" an opinion.

An opinion is why we all should avoid war or why a piece of music is enjoyable.

LeBron's is what's known as a dummy spit...

And yes, I'd give him the bebefit of the dount in normal circumstances. Anyone who wears "King James" shirts and has "The chosen one" sewn into his socks doesn't deserve that benefit of the doubt.

After 6 rings and multiple MVP seasons, if MJ wore a shirt saying 'the chosen one" I'd call him a w@nker also...and at least he's done something to at least boast about.

It's pretty easy to see that the kid has an attitude problem.

RocketRiver aside, you all are really pathetic, insecure dweebs who are so quick to judge, quick to condemn at anything that deviates from humility. Come on, who cares if da Bronz is really a big headed, ego tripping jock? We're not in the market for a friend, but a basketball player.

First of all, there's no direct quote. Stop tripping.

Second of all, let's not pretend that people should possess a charismatic personality, let alone a non-offensive one, in order to legitimize their basketball skills. Why confuse the two?

I know a lot of people admire Yao Ming's personality, because he is a cut up waiting to happen, but why should we expect everyone to be identically humble and meek, and not a danger to our own overly sensitive feelings? If a jock is full of himself, but proves himself on the floor, i couldn't care friggin less.

Go you stuck up, pompous ass! Score 70!

What he says off the court, does off the court, is like off the court is routinely confused for what he does on the court. Why?

Is anybody really looking to be friends with the athlete, when all they really care is whether he can play?

    Pathetic.

    ~radical subjectivity~

He's not gonna be a Rocket anyway, he'll play against us. That's strikes one and two right there. So if he's an ass, and all signs are showing that he is, that's strike three.

I could give a rat's ass about how well this kid can play, I don't root for jackasses.

If I didn't ever have to hear this kid in interviews or hear about the things he does off the court, then I could just view him for the things he does on the court. (And I probably wouldn't like that anyway) But that's not possible seeing as how the media follows every single move he makes. I have to sit there and listen to his garbage dump of a personality, and I find both it and he annoying.

Apollo Creed, so if a jackass makes a game winning shot for the Rockets, you won't root for him? Cheer for the rockets?

Are you that morally righteous to dismiss whoever fails to meet some lofty standard, that you won't cheer for the Rockets, just because there is a jackass on the team?

    Puh-leeze.

Lucas paid $150K for holding a work out because of Lebron. I am willing to bet that Lebron feels guilty for Lucas' fine. Therefore, its easy to see why Lebron is so upset over this. Lucas probably is close friends with Lebron and family and probably has helped him out more than what we know.

Lebron knows hes good. In fact, you have people saying hes the next greatest player since MJ. Lebron hears all this hype and I can't blame the guy for letting it go to his head. Hes a kid, so he hasn't developed the humility or the maturity yet. And when you're feed this much hype at such a tender age, you're gonna believe whatever they say. Calling Lebron "Jordan" makes Lebron think that he has the power and respect of Jordan already. If you want to point the finger, point the finger at the media.

Don't blame the player, blame the game
