not particularly bad. half true. but mostly generalizing. plus i think you rubbed some ppl the wrong way when you plugged in that last statement which is FAR from the truth and just seems like "the thing to say" when it comes to anyone responding to a false statement about Lin.
A lot of people at the Washington game cheered when Lin dunked, but it might be because of Harvard connection... <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LiwSUxszuN0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sensitive+ Unrealistic expectations+ Bromance talks Some Lin fans live in their dreams until the Rockets losing games.
Do I even what NBA? Sheesh...is coherence too much to ask for on this board? Whatever the percentage in each city, the Knicks undeniably have fans everywhere in the US and even around the world. Why else is NY getting two dozen games on national TV versus the Rockets'...umm, let's see...all of two games? Not like anybody is expecting the Knicks to get out of the ECFs any time soon. You're clearly still living in "back in the day". See, here's the difference between NY and teams from the boondocks: it doesn't matter who the Knicks players are or if they suck majorly, they're perennially a big draw around the league. One reason is there are a lot of NY expats and former New Yorkers who've fled the state/city's ridiculous tax regime now residing everywhere else. Deal with it.
Also, Knicks fans often travel to away games in Toronto, Washington, Philly, etc. It's amazing how dedicated Knicks fans are, considering how much suck there is in the organization. Like battered spouses. Dolan doesn't deserve the fans.
It really does take two to tango. We'd all co-exist just fine if some of you old-timers could refrain from a) sneering at posters for being "post-July 2012" entrants on this board b) putting down Lin just coz you blame him for Lowry's/Dragic's departure, when the fact is neither of those two could remain here for reasons that had nothing to do with Lin c) acting like you actually understand Lin's game better than those of us who've followed his career intimately for a long time d) expecting Lin to be a doormat for undrafted rookies to walk all over Trust me, I could go on with this laundry list of complaints over the nonsense you guys want Lin fans to put up with meekly and unquestioningly. Now, how about you good folks moderate your attitude so we can all get along swimmingly and root for the Rockets as one?
a) I wholeheartedly agree with you. But until the majority of those said posters actually comment on something non-Lin related, there will continue to be said sneering. b) I understand that some here put Lin down sometimes, but unless you are a straight-up potato, I don't see how one could connect the two. Lowry was gone since he came back and played sub-par, and he was dealt for a lotto pick for the eventual DH trade. Morey has a big thing about financial flexibility, and the player option was the deal breaker. Now, some are a bit bitter because Goran is a more complete pg right now, was well liked, and is being compensated similarly to Lin, aside from the player option. c) With all due respect, Lin hasn't amassed many NBA games to follow intimately. One could catch up on that very quickly. Hell, it was hard to miss Linsanity. d) Machado will never start over Lin, and if you are referring in any way at all to his comments, the dude is a young kid fighting for a spot on the team. I don't think any rational person wants Lin to hand over a spot to Machado--especially when he's being paid 25M.
fOLLOWED HIS CAREER INTIMATEMATE FOR A LONG TIME WHAAAAAT WAHAAAT 25 GAMES LIN FANS A LONG TIME 25 GAMES INTIMATELY FOR A LONG TIME 25 GAMES A LONG TIME UNDERSTAND HIS GAMES 25 GAMES A LONG TIME
He didn't play basketball in high school or college. I think he just walked in off the street because the Knicks were so desperate for a point guard.
I heard he picked up knowledge of basketball when he was working as the janitor for the Golden... Golden something.
tell me one thing you saw him do in HS thats relevant now i bet you any no one on this board saw 2 full game of him in HS
I said think. If you're asking me, I attended a college that played Harvard on the regular and I've been following him since. It's not unheard of but for some reason, it is here.
The haters are jealous. Pure and simple. They hate on JLin's contract. They hate all of the adulation he's receiving. And most of all, they hate the fact that they work at walmart while JLin is cashing seven figure checks. They'll be haters until the day they die.
A peagoose through and through, I see. Can't write, can't read, can't comprehend. Interestingly, I've noticed a trait that idiots all over the world share is their fondness for repeating a fallacy ad nauseum because they think that'll make it true. Kinda reminds me of the last presidential debate. Whyohwhyohwhy did I expect any better of a hicksville inhabitant? My bad. Where did I say "pro career"? I referred to his "career", which is defined by dictionary.com as "a person's progress or general course of action through life or through a phase of life, as in some profession or undertaking" But I suppose it's too much for an uneducated hick to grasp that distinction. FYI, Lin has distinguished himself and gotten a lot of ink in the press for his bball exploits since high school. Also, he has STARTED 25 NBA games, but played in some 60 games since his rookie year. See what we mean when we say you haters don't have a clue what you're going on about when you mouth off about Lin? Please keep proving my point. I'm ALL for unmasking unrepentant idiocy at every turn.
