I would have agreed with this ten years ago. It's not quite the same, one guy broke off and started sushi coast, which is prolly better but not great. I like masa in Webster better but looking for a new place. I'm incredibly picky about my sushi. tmoney, where's the place you suggested?
Oishii is cheap and a helluva deal but it is far from the best sushi in town. Sage400 is nice but is overpriced and IMO the sushi is just okay Uptown Sushi is very good, but it's nice and expensive Kubo's in the Rice Village has great sushi Sushi King on Kirby has great sushi as well, just has a very unfortunate name
Cafe Ginger on West Gray (River Oaks area, obv) has some really good sushi. If you order enough, they'll serve it to you on an awesome wooden ship.
just go to uchi... every other recommendation is wrong. there's a reason it's considered one of the best restaurants in the country and received 4 stars from allison cook (one of like 3 restaurants in the city to earn that).
Incredible movie/doc on netflix streaming, and I'm hungry now!!! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hbV6knbeUFE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Allison Cook is just another person/bozo not someone to look up to and you can't send people into Uchi blindly. There's really no other sushi place in Houston that is of that caliber. It's good. It's expensive.
Agreed. Never been to Uchi though. For the people that say Soma, I think that's the worst one from the Azuma group, which owns Soma, Azuma, and Kata. Try the other restaurants, and I'm sure you'll agree.
Do any of you remember a little sushi place in a strip center on the feeder of I-45 S. right by greens road? I used to go there all the time, then one of the hurricanes came thru and ripped the roof off of the building and the building management wasnt doing anything about it so it closed. I would really love to find out if the chef is working anywhere else.
The fellas here are asking for PICS of your sister so we know what to recommend. Come on, dudes... don't make a married dude ask for pics... y'all do it next time!
Yeah Uchi is good, but definitely do research on what to order so you don't end up with a $200 bill and still hungry.
