Not even close...Shaq in his prime...He was really dominant...he got his points...when he wanted...however he wanted...he was a bad bad man
You are right, Shaq is a analyst.... But when he says he'd rather have Brook Lopez than Dwight Howard then it may be safe to assume that he is trolling...

certified Laker Hater here, but I'm not just going to moan about Howard. he did the right thing. Shaq, as an analyst, needs to show professionalism. he has brought his anti Howard chip on his shoulder to the analyzing game and it makes him look like a fool.
What's going on here...? ... you're automatically gonna be hated if you go from the Magic to the Lakers... either one of them.
shaq basically said that dwight is not a go-to center because he has no post-up game... is this not true? u cannot throw the ball into dwight at the end of the game and expect him to bring home the victory - plain and simple... and as an nba analyst, it is sort of shaq's job to point these things out.
LOLwut? I don't think Shaq's jealous over DH per se, he's just jealous of the fact that he can't be an NBA star and be the center of attention anymore, and he seems to resent anybody who would come to close to his legacy as the MDE C. A lot of people probably don't remember, but he was also antagonistic towards Yao when he first entered the league and was the dubbed the next great C, and then shifted his anger to Bynum and DH when they entered the league and started showing dominance. With DH, I think he's esp. angry because for some reason or the other DH seems to be mimicking everything he did, from getting drafted by ORL, to getting the Superman nickname to going to the Lakers.
Shaq wasn't exactly the go to guy at the end of the game either bro. The only real go-to centers I remember are Kareem and Yao Ming, because those guys could hit their fts with amazing consistency. Having no post up game doesn't matter when you have Gasol (who's posting up BTW) manning the PF spot and Nash creating for you. Amare, Matrix and Frye had no post up games but those three scored a ton of points thanks to Nash.
Not even remotely close. Give me the 7'2 monster, with a 7'7 wingspan, 9'5 standing reach and 36'' vertical. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Shaquille-O-neal-3796/ Seriously, just from a physical stand point Shaq and Dwight can't even be compared. Shaq was simply an anomaly. Probably the most physically imposing big man ever.
Because Shaq is a legend and he showed so much respect to Yao towards the end of their careers. Said him and Yao were the only true centers left.
he said that because he knew nobody in their right mind would ever say yao was on the same level as shaq. easy to compliment him. he wasn't as complimentary early in yao's career. he's as insecure as they get. i wish dwight put him in his place and told him never to compare himself to hakeem, and that he was nothing more than an enormous oaf with some agility. no real basketball skills whatsoever.
i think this is a misunderstanding of his words.. he's only saying that without a true post-up game, u don't get props as a center. he even acknowleded that dwight is a great pick'n roll player. but he simply doesn't think that's enough to qualify as a true old school center. shaq also hated patrick ewing personally. but he always gave him respect as a center despite this. however, he didn't give d-rob that respect b/c like dwight, d-rob also had zero post-up game (incidentally, hakeem also made remarks on several occasions that he didn't consider d-rob a true post center either). i agree that shaq's insecure, can be a dick, and got the benefit of a lot of no-calls in his career. but he did make many many big shots at the end of playoff games - carrying the fakers at times - and he did earn those rings.
