Rookies dropping like flies. Rockets press release... <HR> Donatas Motiejunas Medical Update Rockets forward/center Donatas Motiejunas missed today’s practice due to an infection that is being treated with antibiotics. His availability for future practices will be evaluated on a daily basis.
So, maybe Royce White did not have an anxiety attack, but rather a six sense for a dark omen about McAllen, TX and thus wisely staying away from there. Lets get these guys back from the Valley before the whole team perishes.
"infection" is kind of vague. Could be a staph infection from a wound, a bacterial infection, or a sinus infection. Lowry's bacterial infection was one of the more severe ones Ive ever heard of. In most normal cases, I would assume a doctor would still allow you to play while on antibiotics. Lets hope that D-Mo's case is something more normal like a sinus infection.
People regularly die from infections, the one Lowry had was pretty weak. Speaking out of own experience.
I think over 100,000 people die just in the US alone from whats known as the common cold. Look, an "infection" can mean alot of different things. Lets wait and see what kind of infection it is first before we start talking about death please. -Oh and FYI, I have had a nasty bacterial infection myself when I was in college that landed me in the hospital, and on the other hand I also know people who have polyps in their sinus cavity that causes them to get a sinus infection nearly every time they sneeze for which they must take antibiotics to get rid of it. I am speaking from experience. An "infection" can mean just about anything. More than likely, its probably not a Lowry(my college years) type of infection. It could be serious, but its probably not given the fact that he is a young professional athlete with most likely a pretty good immune system to fight off bacteria normally. -Oh FYI, Lowry(a professional athlete) was put in the hospital for a couple days with it. I dont consider that "pretty weak."
I feel you, but the "Lowry's bacterial infection was one of the more severe ones Ive ever heard of" was pretty off in that context and seeing you know how serious infections can get.
If you put it in the context of "professional athletes who are treated with a bacterial infection" yeah I would consider it pretty severe. In the context of the entire world(elderly, children, people with no means to medical attention, etc.), no it could have been much worse.
