That is exactly my point. Some fans joined because they moved to Houston, some are fans because their parents were Rockets fan, some were Akeem fans, some Yao fans, some Tmac fans, and now some are Lin fans. Who are you to judge who is the real Houston Rockets fans?

When you start posting about posting on how you use to post on the Knicks forum and put a "WHILE PLAYING WITH THE KNICKS" in the

GARM (Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves )

    then it's a little suspicious

One of the best posters on this board told me this story when he went to a Rockets game a while back.

Every time Yao touched the ball he noticed some dude in a Yao Rockets jersey cheer. When anyone else like Battier or Tmac made a bucket he didn't cheer.

    He only cheered for Yao.

    NOT A ROCKETS FAN.

I don't care of people where they come from. If I don't like their posts, I select to skip. if I have difficult to change myself, I also could not and don't want to change others.

Well, then you can say that someone is not a Rockets fan if they don't like Lin, who's on the team, like Apollo. I don't know why people care if someone likes a certain player more than another. That's why it's just stupid to say who is a fan or not.

I agree. If people don't like a thread then skip it. It'll create a lot less arguing.

    THIS.

Tinman was probably given this same treatment by the Elvin Hayes and San Diego fans and now feels the need to condescend to any fans that joined the Rockets after him.

Will the cycle of smugness never end??? :(

When did I ever say I don't like Lin. I support every player on the roster as long as they play their asses off and contributes to the team winning.

I personally don't give a damn who you support more than others, we all have our favorites on the team. I mean damn I started following the Rockets because of Steve Francis.

Most player only fans are only here because of one player, the team winning is second to player doing well. They will make trillion of excuses for anything that player does. In their mind their player is never wrong, it's the always someone else's fault. They will jump out of the woodwork at any criticisms directed at the players. Eventually they just **** up any discussion in this forum.

And trust me we had this for years with TOF's and YOF's, it was annoying as hell.

In my opinion, you can be a any "OF's" you want, as long as you keep the discussion respectful, at least pretend to care about the team winning, don't make r****ded deluded comments and predictions, don't start 20 useless threads about the same shet, and don't make excuses for the player every time someone criticizes that said player, you are more than welcome to post on this forum forever.

Complain that people are putting words in your mouth in one breath...

...and then in the next breath put words in other people's mouths.

It's hard to keep the discussion respectful, when you keep getting called names and complaints every time a Lin thread is created. There has been some very good discussions thread. Sure there have been some passionate over the top Lin fans due to some criticism, but a lot of them are pretty reasonable and many have shown a lot of data/stats about Lin's game which were very informative, although some still can't believe it.

you really need to read carefully.

He never said he disliked Lin.

He dislikes that the thread that says nothing about the Rockets and links to a New York Knicks forum, pretty much insults the integrity of what this forum is about.

Talking about Lin and how he's going to help the Rockets is fine. Going to the Rockets forum to spread the gospel of Lin will rub people the wrong way.

Let's try to also keep the Lin threads to a limit.

The poster could have simply said on another Lin thread, that he posted on the Knicks forum and thought he wasn't 100%, this doesn't need to be it's own separate thread.

Whoa, you can't just spend half the thread being the cantankerous old poster ranting about REAL FANDOM and calling people LOFs and then all of a sudden try to be the voice of reason and moderation. That's already out the window man.

If an article about the health of Lin's knee offends you so much, you really need to just grow thicker skin. At this pace, you may end up with a brain aneurysm when you come on the boards after a game where Lin gets 30 and 10. ;)

I like TMac, but if I were a fan of only him I'd be pretty depressed.

^That's not a hypothetical by the way.

There was no article, it was just his thread on a Knicks board, and you can't even access the thread without signing up to the forum lol.

I honestly wouldn't have cared if it was an actual article from an actual source, but this is just r****ded.
