Yep, we're all taking on the mentality of the female brain. b****, b****, gossip, gossip, yada yada ya........it makes us feel better about putting down others, and it actually make us feel like we know something about everything.

More of us should try it. ;)

    J/K of course. :D

It is obvious that since I have resigned as the King Troll and Knee-jerk reaction master of this board, everyone else has felt the need to fill my shoes.

Maybe if I start negative threads again, everyone will bash me, and stop bashing a young team with two all-star starters, and a future brighter than any team in league history.

Just say the word guys, and Turn will be reborn.

I find it interesting that there are often as many complainers complaining about the complainers as theyre are complainers......

    When did this happen??
at this point, I would welcome your brand of pessimism over some of the brainless knee jerker morons we have around here this year..

at least you will/would concede a point that is well made.
    sometimes...

    ;)

I agree with that one too. I'm not complaining about complainers. Everyone has the right to say what they will.

I am just asking about the mentality that drives people to seemingly desire conflict. I guess people just get bored. :)

the people that complain about the complainers are complaining because the complainers dont say anything original.

    Can you say, broken record...

They could cut and paste one post and use it in every thread they post in (which is what they seem to do) and would anyone notice?

and it doesn't help that if someone tries to defend their position, the complainers are quick to point out how clueless the Rocket defenders (on the BBS) are or say that we aren't being realistic...

It gets tiring.. maybe the positive posters are unable or unwilling to bang their heads against the rookie wall day after day...

It is a shame that the few good posts that are made either get ignored or shot down by the legions of bashers.

    Jeff,

    It's science.

    Newton's Law of Complaining:

For every complainer, there's an equal and opposite re-complainer.

"It is a shame that the few good posts that are made either get ignored or shot down by the legions of bashers."

    R2k-

You bring up a good point, most people see the crap that gets said on here and just go with it and keep it up. I'm sure there are people that have some original ideas but don't post anything because they don't want to bother opening themselves up to the ensuing criticism.

I was getting frustrated with this board when I saw the trend towards increasing negativity towards the Rockets, and started to not pay as much attention as I used to. And now, it seems the negativity amongst this board is not even directed at just the Rockets, but amongst each other as well.

But, R2K, I saw these post from you on another thread just earlier today: "any Rockets fan with a half a brain already knows that 3 guard lineup=crap... you sir, are a dumbass..." & "everyone here that has seen the 3 guard lineup in action can attest to it...except you...moron...".

On that thread you may have been right, but how do you expect to maintain the integrity of the board if you yourself are bashing others? I don't know what with the people of this town and all this venting and negativity- we have an unbelievably young and talented team, and 1)Nobody supports them- our attendence is abyssmal; and 2)all anyone can do is complain because we are an unbelievably young and talented team who's players are going through the growing pains of playing in the NBA.

Sports are meant to be enjoyed, and if people can't enjoy it, it says something about them and not their team. Jeff- great thread. I especially love the Seinfeld quotes.

Yes, it is true that I get sucked into the vortex from time to time..to my own chagrin..:(

But if you weigh my few harsh posts versus the way I normally post, you would see that the majority of my posts are more concilatory than not..I normally try to preach common sense and reason....but I, just like my boys(Rockets) are not infallible..

The post you question was a response to someone who had more than one person point oout the flaw in his argument, and still persisted in reiterating the same worn out point...
I posted that in frustration over not only that thread, but the many other threads that are just rehashed non-sensical arguments that we have seen over the last year...

I do apologize for some of the things I say, and I will admit to regretting that outburst...in normal times past, I would have edited that to something less inflammatory...

oh well, times change and we all make mistakes...;)

I think every sports forum is just like that. It just proves that this is a normal forum and we are normal people.

What about the posts that are run-on sentences and they keep going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going...?

when i first started to post there was a poll, what kind of post do you hate the most, and one option was: any post ZRB posts, , , but now i do not know who should be in that post instead of ZRB (i just want to say, i think ZRB is alot more psitive then he was. i ike is post nowaday.:D), there are alot of people just posting to get there postnumber up(atleast i get the feeling0 some just try to get an reaction. and alot of people just want to bash, Why is there everyday a new, rudie sucks threat? even if we win, somebody will say: weel yeah we won, BUT we could have won alot easier.

i'm getting tired of people always complaining, ofcourse i hate it when the rocks lose, but every team will lose a few games. i wonder if people can remember last year? then we lost alot, now we are 7 in the west. We have a verry bright future, and still people bash. i do wonder why. the rocks will lose alot more games, and will not be champion this year. just focus on the good things on this team, and there are alot of good things.
    just my thoughts

As a new poster I don’t mind the negative complaining, it’s the negative ranting and raving I find discouraging.

    Complainer: Rudy Sucks!!!!
Defender: Well, he did get us to two championships and several playoff runs.
Complainer: Yeah, but that was with veteran teams.

    As opposed to

    Ranter: Rudy Sucks!!!!!
Defender: Well, he did get us to two championships and several playoff runs.
    Ranter: You’re a moron
    Or
    Ranter: You’re a Rudy lover.
    Or
Ranter: You’re a Rudy lover and a moron.

Ranters want you to read their opinion, but they're not really interested in hearing from anyone who disagrees. So what’s the point in spending time typing up a positive post that someone’s just going to read and ridicule?
